Radiation Build-up
So I went to Sector 3 and got some power cells, but my radiation is making me nauseous--even with the Hazmat Suit on the whole time. I decided to head home so I could go for the last cell with a clean slate, but it's taking a while to go down. I was hoping that the healing upgrade on the crafting bench would help it go faster, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Is there an easier way to reduce my built-up radiation or do I just need to spend like 2 weeks in the facility to clear it all up?

the anti-rad pills you can find in medkits, and the orange craftable syringe you get the blueprint for by levelling up your med skill.

Oh, I didn't realize the iodine pills reduced build-up too! The tooltip just says they reduce incoming rads by half. You're right though--that totally cleared up my rads. Thanks!

do lead west or hazmat suit also protect from radiation that comes from items in backpack?
If so: wear those :)

I hardly ever get radiation from hauling radioactive items while wearing a radiation suit. Lugging around a stack of power cells is just enough to give the little radiation health tip, but only enough to make my character nauseous. That's easily fixable with some iodine. Also, I don't think I've consumed anything radioactive other than nachos while wearing the suit, so I can't confirm if it prevents that kind of buildup.

Suit definitely does. Also when you're ferrying highly radioactive materials: Sitting on a seat in a car or tram disables radiation for some reason (geiger counter drops ot zero).

Did a small test of sorts, with regards to having both a Hazmat suit and a (Red) Radiation Vest on. (As a side note, the numbers are an estimate based on the values shown on Geiger Counter, and subtracting the first read value, followed by the second read value)

The control is a powered fridge with a lot of L. Essence and Kizz Colas in it.

Without a suit and vest: 2.49 r/sec (absorbs 100%)
With only the Hazmat suit: 0.374 r/sec (absorbs 15%)
With both the Hazmat and Radiation Vest (Red): 0.125 r/sec (absorbs 5%)

So I think what happens is, wearing both the Hazmat and (red) Rad Vest (not the earlier blue one) seems to "stack" radiation resistance. I did not test this directly with radioactive items in the backpack.

Though, this was just a quick / rough test, there could be some other variables involved. But hopefully this helps.
