Mysterious Locked Crates

Three months later edit: Since this thread gets risen from the dead every month or so (and apparently shows up at the top of Google searches), I figure I should update the OP. Everyone has been very helpful with their information. This thread was created the night the crates were added, and keys were still not implemented yet. Since then, the game mechanic has been more fully fleshed out and needs less explaining. I've found three locked crates that were added in the 0.8.09904 hotfix, but don't seem to be mentioned in the notes for said hotfix. Of the crates I've found, there are two "themes". One for GATE security, and the other resembling the Order. Interacting with either variety of crate does nothing, and the message "It won't budge." I am unsure if these crates are meant to be opened with a key of some kind, or possibly unlocked elsewhere.

A GATE Security Crate can be found on the walkway above the Baird Containment Block.

A second GATE Security Crate can be found at the top most platform of the Containment Sector. This is where the Rise exit portal will spit you out.

No Idea how to do anything to them yet. But I've found one (GATE type) at the processing plant in manufacturing, near the the top by the base of the bucket wheel excavator.

one is at the beginning in office area next to the wounded security girl that locked the doors

one is on the 3rd floor office area in the room with electricity

There's a Gate crate inside the locked area beside Silo 3 (can unlock by going into Silo 3 and grabbing all 3 power cells)

There's an Order crate in the back of one of the first trucks you see inside Manufacturing

I found another crate in manufacturing West next to a drill and two soldiers. There is an ornate chest with the same symbol as one of the military captains berets (which I got by shooting him in the head) but even with wearing the hat it still won't open so maybe there's an armor set with the captain symbol or an ID that we need to get or will be added later.

i'm not there yet in skill level but wanna test if those open with the bionic arms mad from soldiers body parts.

If that were the case news about that would have been circulating already.

The boxes are for future content.

I will test it, if I remember, but when something says 'It won't budge' in game, that means nothing can open it.

Why are they adding so many crates i cant even find out how to open the others... Why is no one telling in a guide or something how to open them

Considering the latest status report, it's because their for future content. They can't open yet, and the composer chest should be open-able in the next/summer content update. So just take notes of where they are, and come back to them later.

I opened one. Got an ornate key from an officer and opened up ornate chest got a digit which boosted combat speed and ammo drops. Assuming you have to kill a bunch of the corresponding enemy type to get a key drop
