Blacksmith not accepting Solder?

I am trying to trade Solder at the Blacksmith for Fibre Optic Cable so I can make
the AOE healing briefcase but when I drop it, it's being rejected. I gave Metal Scrap for Cement Bag just fine. I tried relogging but the issue persists. So far we've traded for two, one for the quest and another for our Healing Briefcase - is he limitted?

Did you dropped the entire bucket with solder?
If yes then put the bucket down and then pickup the solder , and then drop solder and not bucket with solder.

had that earlier. had to stand fully on top of the trade thingy and drop it for it to register it as a trade item

yes maybe you are 1 cm further and your item is dropping down instead of the blacksmith drop area , be sure to be very close
