Small repairs can be done with duct tape, but that’s not a perfect solution either. Neither is hauling battery and recharge station.
I guess the protagonist scientist cannot create a switch smaller than lever and that’s why EVERYTHING is always on.
And they’re probably not the only one, since the facility cuts power during the night. I wonder what all that night power used to go into...
Even Blunt Weapons could use an on-off setting as I use the Thermal Mallet for AoE box opening. It seems to have a longer battery life than the Powered Spears though.
Yea the reload button should be the on-off switch as it's not used for melee weapons.
Also kind of odd that blocking replaces any extra ability of melee weapons if you use a shield. (And there's no block ability to level at all, meaning most people won't bother with shields) Doesn't help that the shield also blocks like 1/4th of your Screen.
When you have a shield equipped, it does have a shield icon and whatever key you press to holster it.
WHAT I had no idea I was actually not taking any shields with me because of how much they block the screen when you're not using them except for the dinner tray one. (Only time I went back for a shield was during the sniper part because I had no idea how else to get pretty close to him)
I just never block so I get no benefits from it and it slows me down.
Like it is basically cosmetic in my playstyle because I like to use the overpowered electric gun that makes all combat trivial (except the big purple guy I still had to cheese him with a door and it still took like 5-7 full recharges of the electric tesla gun)
No idea how you're meant to beat the purple guy without cheesing him except something lame like stack explosives or carry a full inventory of weapons so you can switch out when they break during combat because of the amount of HP he has.
The spear pushes away the big guy when hitting his weakspot. using the tray shield i can block the damage most of the time, bio legs block fall damage, electro gun dishes out the punishment. I didn`t need to even recharge it once (this is before patch, solo). The gun 1/3 full after it ended, spear was 2/3 full, 3 grenades used,
I saw a video of someone nuking the living ♥♥♥♥ out of this guy by using 6 electro grenades thrown at the crotch (whistle that is probably purple), gibbing it in under a minute.
A toggle for "on-hit effect/no on-hit effect" would solve the issue losing charge with butchering, hitting boxes, and some enemies you might not feel like need the wasted charge (pests, for example)
