water purifying bug?
i put a full pot of tainted water on a makeshift stove and when its done purifying it gives me like an eighth of a full pot of water? makes purifying water useless. is that a bug or a poor design?

it's not an eighth it's a quarter. Ratio for boiling tainted water to clean water is 4:1 and is intended. You do unlock better ways of purifying water a bit later on. In the mean time you can horde water coolers or setup a bunch of pots or harvest from sinks (they're supposed to be working now and should refill slowly by themselves)

There's a mid to late game thing called a water filter. It can hold a full barrel (that's about 10k so it's two and a bit water coolers worth) of tainted water and instantly converts it to clean water in a 1;1 ratio. Since you can pick up and fill barrels from water sources I was able to make 60k units of clean water in about 30 secs for nothing (It's not even something you need to power). I would not be surprised if it got nerfed at some point in the future.
