- There's a room underneath the Data Farm, accessible through a tunnel under the Tram stop that overlooks the Hydroplant .
- You can pass through the wreckage of the cargo train in Manufacturing for some unique scenery, but it's mostly an inconvenient shortcut.
- There's a room located in the Labs' Tram Tunnel (the area you're introduced to the Electro-Pest), located close to the ceiling. This room has a very unique piece of loot.
- There's rooms in Labs that are accessible via getting captured by the Containment Robots (they will break your legs however). There's actually a more obscure way of entering a few of these rooms, but it requires the Red Chair and takes more work.
- Areas the Trams pass by *can* be explored with the Jetpack , but it requires some diligence so you don't overheat and fall into the abyss. Most of these areas are purely decorative sadly, the water is usually solid and not swimmable.
- The Reservoir hides secrets in its waters.
]That large area with the forklift is called the "Mapping Centre" and confuses me as well. There's a squad of the Order attempting to drill through a closed door in the main building, so I wonder if it's hinting at future content. I've tried to get the Forklift back onto the main roadway, but I think it requires a ramp.
Antejuice is actually a more efficient thirst-fulfilling water, but doesn't do anything for cooking or agriculture (weirdly enough). Great for extended excursions with a bottle.
I mean, I have checked every corner, jumped into a lot of "unreachable" places, and invented insane ways after dozens of deaths to check "what was there?". No secrets...
The way the game allows you to traverse difficult places with GoldSrc-like movement is basically asking you to "check here, check there". I think 50 hours could easily be upped to 100 hours before the security sector if there were more secrets.
Adding in such secrets takes time, especially good ones, and the bulk of that time is set aside for content making. Sure, they could be added in parallel to level design, but only so much. They'd have to be checked and playtested to see if they got the right effect, and then you have to worry about spoilers as well if done too early in EA development.
At the end of the day (figuratively speaking) the game has to be released, and they have a tight deadline on their hands. The fact that they have time to spare to listen to community feed back and add desired features still kind of amazes me.
Sometimes I have this feeling that you are actually part of the team. (I get it why no "dev" flair)
I wish developers the best and I love this game. I'd buy any cosmetic DLC if it were available in the future.
