New best base location?
Used to live in the 2nd floor security room in office sector. It has 2 entrance, with 1 can be lockdown forever with the shutter. However, recent update the shutter door has a timer, and will open up by itself, which makes me feel like I was naked. Any suggestion for the base?
For now my best pick is the aquarium's 2nd floor lab in lab sector, it can only be visit through stairs, have toliet and water source near by, and it's close to tran system

You can still use that location, but now it has a security door not unlike Five Nights at Freddy's. Also, if you keep stuff on the balcony spot, you not only have one kill funnel at the security door, but most things needing to go up one or the other set of stairs.

I'm just annoyed that I can't block the 'Coworker' from just wandering in.

I haven't finished this game yet, but I keep finding good spots for small bases, with the latest ones I've found locked behind level 2 security locks. The climb is a bit annoying on a couple I found, but that also means it is near impossible for most things to raid you, unless they teleport directly inside.

I blocked off the shutter entrance, thinking only the soldiers use the entrances. Since the aliens just keep spawning on the upper section. The coworker keeps trying to get in but he can't slip through.

2nd floor security room is my home too.

I've done other "small" bases in the rest room near the forjesmith, and near the tram station on tarasque zone

I temporarily set up in the security room near the canteen, then when I got the Tesla coil I moved to the fountain right outside. It's got lots of room to expand and I get free materials from the Security bot whenever it spawns since I slapped a tesla coil right next to it's charging port.

Are there any reasons to move main base tho?
Not sure how long we are into right now (just opened portal and got chem suits, hadnt checked portal yet)
And we still base ourselves at this small cafeteria near spawn point

Monsters are coming only from 1 direction (and we bugged door with floor trap so they can come in either lol) and we have enough space for what we need for now

For me its better room and to be closer to the resources.

Starting base in the cafeteria staffroom (good starting point but becomes too much of trip to get to level 3.

Moved to the locker room next to level 2 gym and pool.
Only problem with this is fixing my traps every time the security bot respawnes.

Right now I'm getting ready for my 2nd portal storm in my level 2 security office base.
From here it's a short walk to either level 3 elevators and manufacturing west.

After that depends on what locations I can scout out.

The level 2 security room for example, have 2 easy-to-defense entrance, vending machine, toilet , charge station, ammo spawn point, 2 power socket, close to water source, close to transtation, and a huge room. There's just so much plus in it.
If you're talking about the "Actual need" for a better base, then no, the raid can't do ♥♥♥♥ because we already have upgraded crafting bench to prevent portal storm, anyone getting close to the entrance will be tear into pieces by tesla coil, and we are both well equipped for combat. It's more about the feeling of safe, than actually safe

I'm pretty sure the 'Coworker' can spawn inside the base, the upgraded bench does not prevent him spawn in. It happens before the patch, so I have all my door close tight, each have death trap and require a certain way to get in, yet it still crawl inside asking for food, so the shutter isn't that helpful

For me and my friend, it's been the Level 2 Keypad door above the Trader in Manufacturing. Enemies don't use ladders from what I've seen and it's fairly cosy. Haven't had a single portal storm occur in there so far either.

That said, once you start opening up the Sector 3 Labs, it might be prudent to move back towards the Cafeteria or even into the Data Farm for ease of access. There's a cart tunnel that leads directly up from the Wildlife Pens that can be unlocked with a Level 2 Hacking Device.

The garage in manufacturing where you find the forklift is a better base setup.

You can block "coworker" by putting a makeshift barricade in the doorway by the shutters

If you are talking about the garage that have a soldier and a hoarder, then that place is too small
If you are talking about it and the tunnel behind it, then it has too many entrance

I have my base set up in the little room in Warren's security booth. Convenient access to the trams

True, but The 'Coworker' spawns some distance from you and walks around until 'he' finds you, or your Crafting Bench ('he' loves that Crafting Bench). That specific room is big enough that you can stand in most any place and cause the 'him' to spawn outside of the room. There were a few times where 'he' spawned inside, despite the shutters being close, but I was at the far end of the room when that happened.

I've been finding a few places like that, often behind lvl 2 security doors. Though I have had a couple Portal Storms happen in that specific room, but those are just Pests and a Peccery. Until other things know how to climb a ladder, that place is about as secure as it can be.

The new best base location, ironically, is once again the 2nd floor security room in the office sector. The dev team for the game seems pretty solid. They took everyone's feedback and have deigned to grant us proper use of the shutters again, at the cost of a single controller.
