Is this game fun as a single player game?

The title says it all. I'm curious what you think.

No the game is overtuned in difficulty. Its not even that fun with 2 players becuase of constantly respawning enemies that have too much health and do too much damage, 1 player sounds like an awful time. Game is balanced around 6 players in a server

I have 10 hours on the default settings as a solo player and I've only died once. Enemies go down with 1-3 hits of a weak crossbow and the handgun takes down harder enemies with 2-3 hits. Not sure what kind of difficulty chesse was playing but its not difficult at all, its balanced perfectly.

Anyways there's like 20 threads like this, use the search function to find more opinions on solo gameplay.

I most time soloing, it's very good for me
There's one location the enemy just too many and seems like they are respawning, but once you get through that hell, it's all fine. It's darksoul-ish if you ask me

Agreed, maintenance gets harder but I've been on solo the entire time and still fine. Death is no problem too, you just go corpse run and get your stuff back.

Yeah wouldn't listen to this person. Skill issue mostly since I am doing this with another person and it's simple. 6 people would be crazy since you would hit each other a lot.

I played through the entire demo solo. It's not too bad, but you might struggle against the dogs

Only issue I'm facing currently is ammunition. Maintenance has run me through all my paper and the goons don't seem to drop sufficient 9mm to make hte pistol worth it.

For paper, collect books from the Library in Flathills. Each book you loot is worth 3 books, and each book is worth 20 paper, so easy paper farm. Fairly easy to come out with 70 books during a single run.

The game's been pretty fun in Singleplayer imo, me trusty spear, good ol vacuum to get what i need, small room to call home, its been pretty nice. Only difficulty i've had have been the robots so far, only fought 3 but beat them after like a death for two of em

played with a few friends for awhile and now doing solo when no one is around and it's pretty good so far. I just alter the settings to what you want to and don't bother listening to that crazy loon that has to advertise their mental sickness.

No. Too much grind for one person, lots of different resources, numerous recipes, crafting and sorting through crap is chore in it of itself, throw combat, cooking, base building, story progression and exploration into the pile - it turnes into a second job. I too feel as if gameplay loop was balanced around 3-4 people, it gets incredibly boring and tedious even with 2 friends.

I would wait for single player update from their roadmap, game ain't worth it for a singleplayer for a price it's asking.

I think this is less of an issue if you actually have armor and an okay weapon.
