Forklift in the Manufacturing area by the forge, purpose?

Hello,

I provided a power cell for the fork lift in Manufacturing right beside the forge. I thought the purpose of the lift was to open the door across the hallway that has a gap at the bottom labeled Shipping, similar to how you get in manufacturing in the first place, but i cant seem to find any way to control the forklift other than just driving around.

Does it actually have a purpose, or is it just for fun?

I need to revisit that spot to see what you are talking about, but I assumed most forklifts that you can power are drivable vehicles, and can use the box on the forks to store items. The box I think has more storage slots than the Platform Cart, making it really handing for moving stuff, assuming you drive on a flat surface.

Yeah I noticed that it does have quite a large storage box. You may be right. With the tram activated in the same area, it seems kinda pointless.

It could be helpful. Having a way to move X amount of extra inventory slots with no weight limit is nice.

But if there is anything that could make it better, this is the time to suggest something.

Nah, trams only get you so far, and can only go to certain points of a sector. So unless you plan on putting boxes on them constantly, they're really not the best for moving stuff, or travelling effectively either. Vehicles can go pretty much anywhere in every sector once you open them all up. Me and my partner found another vehicle (not the forklift) and have been pretty much just using solely that to go between all 3 sectors, regardless of floor, cause it's so much faster and easier.

It is super useful to transport your stuff if you plan on moving you base. It's fast, can perform a hit and run, and can be used as cover too. I made it my main base just for the fork lift.

For some reason, it can't fit the tram but can easily fit through small door by going backward

You can unlock a road that connects manufacturing and the office sector, so its an alternate method of travelling between the sectors and also allows for rapid movement of supplies you find and makes creating new outposts faster too since the box at the front has alot of storage.
