Are items recoverable after a fall?

Slid off a the pipe after jumping down from the tram platform and fell to my death. I would assume that any items in my inventory would drop on death. I haven't found any sort of container to pick up item, are the items lost forever? I had some hard to find items on me.

Everything in your quickbar persists on you after death.

Everything in your backpack will be dropped and you can pick them back up by interacting with your corpse. You can see a bright white skull that marks the location of where your corpse is, and you can collect them by interacting with the body.

In the case of falling off the map to your death, your body will be at the last location where you were on stable ground.

It is not, the skull is at the bottom of the abyss. I searched everywhere around where I initially jumped off and then skid off the pipe.

Can you show us the location this occurred in? Under normal circumstances, your body should be available at the last "safe" location (e.g. the ledge you fell from)

If there's a spot this occurs we might be able to reproduce the issue and solve it in an update.

Walked off the tram platform just outside of "Data Farm" (I think) the area with all the office desks attached to a breakroom. Where it's circle in red is where I momentarily touched the pipes and slid off. My corpse (as well as a second one from when I tried to recover it) is down on the rock below. Unknown if I can reach down there with a rope ladder.

Thank you, those screenshots are extremely helpful. You can probably not reach down there safely, unfortunately. This will help us prevent and resolve the issue but at this moment I can't fix it for you. I hope you didn't lose too many important items.

You CAN reach down there. if you died exactly where the circle is. Move back to the Office cubicle area. Head to the VIP office (the enclosed one) Near the entrance there walk against the railing. you will see that there is a platform on the other side of the railing.
Jump onto the platform, follow the ladder down, go into the tunnel. (enjoy your big backpack) continue following the tunnel, it will bring your out on the ledge down there.

You WILL have to do some mario I think to get to that exact spot though.

Don't worry, you can leave multiple clone behind if you have items in the inventory

The body isn't on the pipes, it is on the rocks below the pipes.

Happened to me once, but after restarting the game the items appeared in a bag in front of the security officer in the office section

No it isnt. if you fall of the tram area in the office sector you lose everything not in your hotbar. Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying and about ruined the game for me.

Have you checked after reloading the game if your stuff is back at the Security post in the Level 1 lobby with Warren?

This has been said before in this thread, check it out.

If that doesn't work, then report it as a bug.

Just want to confirm it worked for me. Died around the lobby tram and the bag spawned at the Security post after save.

It also weirdly respawned the cadaver loot (as in not kill loot) of a robot near my base.

Not sure if this is a bug or what but I lost a few things tonight as well. Was in my base and it got attacked so I cleared it out and I then had to run to the restroom. Not wanting to die I tried to exit out to the menu before running to the restroom an I must have hit feedback by mistake rather then logging off and when I returned I apparently had been attacked again and had died. I had to do something quickly so this time I logged off figuring I would pick up my gear when I logged back in and when I did my gear was up and gone! I have a skull elsewhere on the map that seems still there. Not found where it is yet but there is a skull but no where near where I died.

So guess the question is this. Can I get the Antique shotgun again or is this a one time deal as I had just gotten that this morning and that was on me as well as the blue cube that makes jumping easier.

Just stinks that I thought I had logged off only to find the feedback forum running and in game my body dead.

Any way to recover this gear at all???
