My friends and I are trying our best to use the laser re-routers to open the portal in the laser room but it's damn near impossible to line the laser up high enough to get it level with the unopened portal.

What am I missing here? Where do we go now?

We have been messing with this puzzle for hours and found no way to open it, even after powering it with a cable and getting the laser directly through the middle. The portal ended up just despawning after we hit it with the laser...

It does seem that laser room is red herring (not sure though). There is the area past blue security door, where you see turrets ahead, and the gap to your left (the room with portal drawing will be to your right). Just build the bridge across the gap (or use jump pad; bridge is safer, IMO). 2-3 pieces of bridge are enough to go across. I'm not sure if that's intended way, but it works. Going from there is pretty straightforward.

It does seem that some clues on portals are for later game that is not in EA yet.

There's a couple ways to get to the next area. The purple orb in the laser room and jumping a gap or building bridges across work too.

Regarding the purple orb. If you hit it with the laser and it disappeared; Go to the center room with the giant elevator, go to the big door (Vacuum Chamber) and to the right there is a big pylon like structure, the portal opens there. It's the harder route imo.

Regarding crossing the gap. You have to get clearance level 3 and take the elevator up to the third or second floor where there's a room with yellow paint/goop all over, jump down the hole and use your new clearance to open the gate, go through till you reach a spot where there's a checkpoint with machine guns and a gap, you can build a bridge across and there is a vent you climb into to unlock the gate to the next portal world.

There's some caveats. Going through the purple orbs portal takes you directly where you need to go but you have to fight your way up. Might be easier with more people.

Going through the "easier" portal and exiting the portal world takes you into a locked room in which you need to get 4 leyak essence to open the door to proceed.

Either way I recommend going to the gap first as there's a weapon and other stuff to get.

Edit: You have to get the 4 leyak essence either way I think. You can do whichever you want I believe.

If laser room is expected way to do this, their laser system requires a lot of improvements. I've gave up assuming you simply can't make laser high enough.

You just need to stack two chest right in front of the green laser. The hard part is lining it up to hit the orb.

If you know that two chests are enough. For most people, another hard part is figuring out what exactly they need to stack for laser to align properly. I've tried with garbage can and two aligners. It just felt way to janky to be intended solution.

I think it’s kinda bad as well for the fact that the white board makes it look like the the deflector or whatever it’s callled is going to angle it up. I was just as confused at first tbh.

To be fair, it does state on the roadmap that the full laser system is coming later.

I gotta "Reset the security system" in the control room. Im missing Anteverse Gel for antethermite for the wall in the big room and leyak essence for the x-ray shield and 4 slots in the wall. I have not even seen any 3 eyed monsters, only in my log. I have no idea where to go at this point.

I did the laser puzzle thing and went through the portal by the blue portal area

Weird, you should start seeng Leyak once you've found its containment chamber. There is a bug where it doesn't appear if the server is running way too long, maybe try restarting it. It also mostly appears in Adjustment Wing and in the area near Cafeteria. You will hear weird noises when it is nearby.

Well I havent been inside the containment block. Ive just seen the door with the goo stuff covering it from the inside

It isn't exactly what I mean, you see the camera where Leyak was when you enter Labs from the giant hole you've made in the Manufacturing (you also find first essense there). I'm not sure what exactly triggers his appearing, but if you are exploring labs, the logic that makes him appearing regularly is already triggered.
