Avoiding melee attacks seems nigh impossible. Wasnt before.
Any Alpha players or previous beta people confirm their experience is similar to mine? I remember being able to consistently strafe and avoid melee attacks from the dogs and Robots. However now their swing hitboxes are so massive and disjointed its seems impossible.

Im not sure if this is intentional to make the game harder or if its unintentional. Either way im not a fan. Robots in particular hitting you somehow while you're behind and to the side of them and then essentially stunlocking you. It just feels really clunky. I get slower players (higher equip load) argueably should have this happen. That or make it really hard to simply dodge. If im rolling around with no armor im somehow still not quick enough to strafe anything.

I can confirm the hit check is happens regardless attacker's status. I'd been hit by an robot who is facing it's back on me and my stealth strike had him stagger. I was hit even his attack move have been interrupted

Oh yeah, that. That's a problem too. Sneaking up on Order enemies, blasting them from behind with the EM shotgun from two feet away, and having them shoot you twelve times without turning to face you is sorta BS.

Bots at least have a sort of excuse in that they have a spinning melee attack. Also, Exors with a shock net on their face can fire off their ranged attack even while they're removing the net/staggered. And I'm pretty sure the way Peccaries recover instantly from their explosive charge attack is tied into that issue.
Yeah, the misaligned character model and attacks needs to be addressed.

I complained about that in the 2nd Playtest and in the demo, how Peccary were able to just instantly hit you from most angles. And now you have things that can shot you while clearly facing the absolutely wrong direction.

Thankfully it isn't often, but it is memorable. I've never seen that happen in a game before. At least nowhere near to that extent.

I kind of like that you can't really dodge attacks. It means you have to play into the enemies weaknesses and outsmart them. Also gotta level fortitude somehow ;)
