Cooking pot disappears
When taking the last portion of soup, the cooking pot simply vanishes (probably, teleports to another dimension idk). Is this a bug or a new feature (did not happen in beta)? Happens on both client and server.

I recently filed a bug report about this.

However in my case when I placed it down it to serve, it showed 0 available uses, rather than the 4 I was used to seeing in the demo. After using it, the pot went poof, along with the 3 other soup bowl refills. :steamsad:

I see it isn't just me that ran into this. Might have to stick with pan fried alien meat.

It's in the list with known issues. They are trying to fix it as soon as possible.

... :steamfacepalm:
Derp, didn't notice.

To be fair, there is a lot there to remember.

Also I ran into a different bug where if you unload the area and come back it will glitch the pot to 0.

Edit: I got it to work with a makeshift pot. But also I did empty it right there, without leaving the area.

Edit2: If anyone else wants to test this (backing up the save might be good), make 4 soup bowls, cook your soup, don't leave the area, and immediately empty the pot into the bowls. That should hopefully bypass this bug until it gets fixed. That said, the bowls are kind of pricey, given you need so many staplers.

i had the same thing happen. singleplayer single game session made a makeshift pot and emptied it the pot did not disappear.
found a regular pot made both.
i left the area a couple times because soup doesnt burn came back and neither had cooked. stood around for them to cook and the makeshift pot turned into a regular pot. put both on the counter and left the game. came back into the game and emptied what i think was the makeshift pot that had turned into a regular pot and it disappeared entirely. still have the second pot waiting to be eaten.

I have a issue in the same area but not exactly vanishing.

All my pots found & crafted have always red backgrounds in the inventory when I pick them up as if they were broken? Not sure and when I put them down on the stove ( tried multiple btw throughout the facility and crafted the portable ) I simply cannot add anything to them, the button to add doesn't do anything, I'f i'd attempt to add water, ingredients, just nothing happens.

I managed to make soup only once the very first time I tired making soup, but after that every other attempt was just bugged with not being able to add anything.

I've never found a pot. In the demo i had 2, but now after 7hours ingame, not a single pot found.

In case this helps, you need to hold the empty pot and bring it to a water source first (sink, water cooler, etc.) and then place it on a stovetop, after which you can add ingredients.

I found one in the kitchen by the office area.

So the cooking pot disappearing after being emptied of soup is listed in the hotfix, but we just had it occur still with a soup that was not even created until after that patch note.

Edit-
This has in fact happened twice in a row now, different soups, one in a found soup pot, one in a made pot.

Oof, sorry to hear.

Guess I'll stick with emptying out the soup pot before leaving (and unloading the area).

Same thing happened to me, soup pot vanished after emptying it. Not sure if it happens with the makeshift one. Does anyone know if you can cook canned food like the peas without it turning into 'bad soup'?

Typically, like the signs says in some kitchens, 'Don't Forget the Salt'.

Though not everything needs salt.

I did get a recipe unlocked when I got close to something, so that could help.

And I was thinking this is by designed, so I keep stealing pots from flathill hehehe

The cooking pots are more or less the only bugs ive been experiencing. They inconsistenly disappear when emptying them and also if you leave ANYTHING on a stove they just despawn completely when you log off and re-log.

It is best to never leave your stove top cooking and always empty out your pot into bowls soon after it is done. There is some issue with unloading and loading the area that messes with the contents and can cause the pot to delete itself upon use.

I have had luck keeping my empty pots on the stove tops while exploring, so there is that bit of good news..
