security bots question
I am looking for their CPU but i can't seem to be able to destroy them.
Me and my friends been hitting one for a long time without damaging it.
What kind of weapons harm them?

use a chopinator. lead the bot into it, it walks a direct line to you so its pretty easy to get it to walk into the trap. the trap will continually hurt it often stunning it and it'll try to attack that. i've killed many bots with it, nearly destroys the trap but always gets the bot. use a hammer to quickly repair the trap AFTER YOUVE UNPLUGGED IT AND LET IT STOP ROTATING (very important)
Adding to this, placing a shock trap right in front of the chopinator will occasionally shock the robot, making it harder for it to damage your trap. You can make the whole process even easier by using a hammer to repair your chopinator as it and the robot are damaging each other.

Just did EXACTLY this on my solo game and it worked like a charm! Thank you!☺️
I've done all my robot kills required for the hacking tool this way and it's both safer and quicker than a lot of the methods mentioned here so far.

Glad this method is working as well for you as it has been for me.

After learning to use the chopinator in my playthroughs I honestly feel like it's the intended way to deal with them given their very large health pools otherwise. I've used crossbows, spears, etc, but the chopinator was the only one that didn't feel like I was doing something wrong due to how long + durability/ammo intensive the other options are.
Shock traps. tesla coils, and welding hammers are all effective ways to take down the robots. I'm pretty sure you at least have shock traps before you encounter the robots. If you're only using shock traps, then just lead them back and forth over a row of traps (don't forget to let them recharge). This shouldn't take any longer than 3 minutes total (including the lead time).

This is at my current main base.

If you learn how to use chokepoints effectively, tesla coils are the easiest to set up.

Oh, for sure, but I don't think you get tesla coils until after you've already killed some security bots, no?

Cheese method involves a chopinator and luring it to said chopinator.

You can also try the chopinator. I've seen that used recently. Just aggro the robot, and crouch under your powered chopinator. But yea, when I started out, I just crafted a bunch of arrows/bolts and shot at its "face" until it died.

You can also buy slushies on the upper floor offices and use them as a component for freeze grenades, which in turn will also help you out with the rest of the game.

The best strat for me which I use to frankly solo them is to use the makeshift spear. It has more reach than the bot's arm swings so you can keep hitting him and walking backwards between hits. It takes awhile but eventually it will go down.

Yeah, just lure it directly into the central support beam of an active chopinator, done

for the sake of adding something constructive, they also make excellent dummies for training sneaking if you have bland pea soup on you

The robots can take damage from your normal weapons, it just has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of HP.

Alternatively, in demo you were able to kite the robot into that one choppy thing you can build and shred it without needing to hit it. So you might be able to do that in current release.
This is by far the easiest, just go up the elevator, find the bot, poke it and run back over the electrified water. Instant kill, collect loots.
And when you get the electro-thrower it's an i-win button against basic bots.
I just played cat and mouse. I used ledges and cracks in doors to cheese him. Still died a couple of times though. Oh i was using the makeshift spear.
There's a dangling power cord on level 2 not far from reception that you can train them into for easy kills.
