Leyak not dropping any essence.

i have an x-ray tower that kills the leyak, but it never drops any essence. what do?

The only time I've ran into that issue is because I was looking at and approaching Leyak, causing it to get spooked before the X-Ray lamp (turret or held lamp) could do its thing.

Try not looking at it, at all, and see if it drops what you need.
Don't worry if the turrets are not spinning or facing the right way, it just automatically does its thing when in range (sometimes without the effects).

If that doesn't work, then that's a bug, and also a bug that's new to me too. A that point I would recommend reporting it via the Bug Report Google Form with whatever details you think could be helpful.

Yup, found the same. If you make them disappear by looking at them, the x-ray tower doesn't get a chance to kill it. Easiest way to farm them is to just stand on top of the xray and stare at the ceiling for a bit, maybe play around in menus while you wait.
