Boiling is your primary source of potable drinking water until containment labs, unless you're willing to do your refills at the antejuice pool in manufacturing.
Antejuice (see above) is clean by default and always safe to drink from, but is a bit annoying to get and is inaccessible in offices.
In containment labs, you will learn a recipe for a purifier barrel (assuming you remembered to pick up a barrel from manufacturing) which will make the prior two sources largely irrelevant. This is currently the best way so far, but it is towards the end of the content currently available.
