I move around way to much for glowsticks to be useful I found. And my base is pretty lit :P almost immediately.
To mark areas where the buttons are in the furniture store (portal world).
If you are looting an area, and it is going to last all night, tossing a few might be a good idea.
:D Yes of course. Throwing is really in a weird place. You get the trhowing weapons skill only for the sharp weapons and from the sharp weapon skill.
Leveling it is almost impossible. Throwing spears is slow, impractical because you either need multiple or need to pick it up mid fight. It damages the weapon extra fast.
I've thought of a grenade only run to try and level that skill to max for once. Imo we need stackable throwable weapons if this skill is of any use.
Isn't there like 7-8 throwable weapons in the game already.
The spears which are impractical as main throwing weapon and the grenades. 🤷♂️
Took a look in the wiki.
Rubber band ball (not really a weapon but you can throw it)
Boombait
Electron grenade
Frag grenade
Mugnade
Slushie bomb
Thermite Molotov
Throw net
And of course the spears and knives.

Indeed, I 100%ed DRG but considering the cost of these things (especially compared to DRG) I'm never going to use them, ever
(and sometimes the shell would phase through the ground.
Back to the topic, it does feel like a shame there doesn't seem to be that much of an apparent use for thrown items; at least for me. I tried the Boombait with less than mid results. Glow Sticks felt too expensive, and the rest were ignored because of either cost or plain old apathy after having a poor reaction to earlier throwables.
I really should use more things. The Slushie bomb was fantastic when I tested it, but by that point I already established my gameplay pattern, and felt 'easier' to not change. If or when I get a multiplayer group going, I think I may try to push for throwables. Things that stun and freeze feel like a fantastic support item in a co-op game.
