Coop-Difficulty
The Difficulty in Coop is still after the patch way too hard. Its like "Oh, you build a harvester? lemme attack you with 3 Tanks, which will destroy all of your turrets without dying.."
What is this? Didn't they say it would be easier... no... playable?

Yep by the time i have built a harvester and a barracks im getting attack by tanks!

It seems they behaviour is Rush only! It should be different depending on the mission.

Are there specific missions that you have more trouble with or does this happen on every mission across the board?

The first Coop mission. I just bought the game and would like to believe I dont suck at it. Every time I start the mission player 2 is completely swamped and wiped out right off the bat no matter what rush tactics are used.

The First... Its obvious, that the enemybase is either 4 times faster building or has random spawns. Its not balanced between both and it should be in the very first mission.

me and my friend tried to give cop op a try today, and we gave up. we get wiped by massive amounts of units before we can even get a motorpool up

single player is pretty rough to

did a coop skimerish map with friend, the ai on normal was BRUTAL sending non stop wave of units.

also how can AI in skimerish keep rebuilding the HQ after it gets destroyed, over and over and over and over and over and over? you think it can not build anything after that was gone or it run out of money after 30 HQs it rebuilt

We are taking this feedback seriously and currently discussing the difficulty of the co-op missions with the design team. Hopefully we have a solution soon. I will try to notify you guys of any updates.

All i know from my experience it's possible to get 3 stars on every single one except Sky Terror and Armageddon. I still think both can be attempted but i need a partner that can hold his own and be able to push out units. Sky terror left me needing 3 more minutes (didn't know you had to kill orange in airfield) but for Armageddon i needed an additional 5 minutes due to last base left standing and all the oils are dried up. That 2v6 is ruthless but possible to defend against. Cash and Carry is a memorable one and requires coordination. Both players tech up immediately and each should kill yellow's outside refineries asap. Then, build up to take out the other two before teaming up on yellow. I only managed to complete it with about 3 seconds left. The difficulty of most of these missions are those early big attacks that can be hard to defend against if ill prepared.

I have been following this game for a bit and am really impressed by the responsiveness of the devs to the community feedback. Very cool to see. That said, I just came here to read up one last time before buying the game (I mainly plan to play coop with a friend). My hopes were/are that the coop will not be too easy. I was concerned when I read the latest patch notes and saw that the difficulty was lowered. I am somewhat happy to see that people are still finding it difficult.

I guess I am slow at getting to the point... :B1: My question is, do you (or will you) provide a difficulty setting in the game for coop? Basically, I am afraid that if I buy the game for myself and a friend and we enjoy the difficulty (we are pretty much drawn to all games that are fairly brutal in difficulty and force us to really work at overcoming obstacles), that when others request the difficulty to be nerfed, we will then end up with a game that is too easy (for us). So obviously a difficulty setting is ideal so that everyone can be happy. Just curious if that option exists (doesn't sound like it) or is planned.

Getting 3 stars requires perfection except for oil barren. The first map is so hard but I did it today with a very motivated buddy. You need to think outside the box to accomplish these missions and that makes them incredibly fun. I can't wait to tackle the next few missions!

the two missions we had trouble 3-starring is Sky Terror and armaggeddon, first is hampered by the no rocket soilder requirement considering all the air they throw at us. We can beat it but we dont have enough time to build what we need quick enough. I can see it possible but we are not gods.

Same for arm a lot of attrition for how much time you are given and how many Ai it stacks agianst you with. A lot of the coop missions were only 3-starred with seconds remaining 1-10, we had to rush armies in, or targeted strikes against power plants\HQ.

Harvester bug was the only way we won on a few lol (ai keeps sending harvester to contested oil derrick starving itself in the process)


Campaigns were pretty quick for us, skirmish is missing so many options... will wait and see how updates change the game


The real issue is around Oil derricks themselves, you need to rework the resource system as it stands you and the AI end up starved of Oil and the side who has the more troops alive after the "glut" wins.

Heres how we did the first: build 2 refineries right away. Build barracks then two sentries right away close to the HQ. You'll need about 2 power buildings total. Partner in the north can easily take out the green base solo with approx. 20-25 infantry. Partner in the west focuses on building a lot of infantry. Keep queuing barracks and soldiers with about 4 refinaries. At about 7 minutes in head to the southern base and attack it from both sides with all the troops you and your partner have left. Whoever isn't distracted by the tanks and army focuses on taking down sentries first then their HQ. We did it with about 30 seconds left. Basic infantry is incredibly effective at quickly destroying buildings, I would go so far and say they are the fastest. It's just about getting them close to the buildings.

Too late for me. Got a refund. It looked so nice in the first.... 60 seconds.... like a good old CnC-Game... But to launch a game with this difficulty... I'm sorry, too me it looks like unfinished. No Difficulty settings and build-in difficulty on brutal... I was looking forward to this game and it destroyed everything...

But i have to say its really awesome how active you are in the community! Fast Responses and fast patches after that. Maybe i'll rebuy the game again, because of the hopes you give.. but not now.

Yeah Co-Op campaign is brutal on that I can agree. But mission 1 is doable. The mission where you only get infantry and transport helicopter while the enemy gets every tech unlocked is impossible. AI comes at you with helicopters, tanks, infantry and artilery at 3-5 minutes in game. It seems to me the whole co-op campaign AI is on insane level. Especially its problematic since the AI coordinates and attack together at one player and then you have zero chance of surviving. Co-op campaign definitely needs toning down further or it needs to be reworked to be playable in same way as normal campaign with several dificulty levels.
