+ nice girls.
+ story mode
+ co-comander for skirmish battles
well thats an awesome feature
+ well each AI commander has own "personaluty" and approach with the units.
+ Units looks funny
+ nice girls
So for a single player game its pretty solid,
but for multi player well its just not adult ennough.
--------Base Build and Balance
-Faction Allies is on-line not playable , their play style with build only 1 building in same time, means they are extremely outmatched vs the other 2.
-Faction Soviet well somehow better working economy , so they just have more units than Allies.
You win all time by mass, if they did not rush you.
- Faction Japan has even more units that Soviet and Allies combined.
The problem is , you can't use fair one faction vs the others.
With same "enjoable" build up like by the soviet faction , nerf of artillery ships,
it maybe would have been great online game.
Yes everybody says hey look starcraft, but that guys like do same game since 1998. And have like 5 or 10 years to make a game , other studios are more limited, so seriosly , in my opinion they should not waste time on such stuff.
1 enjoyable build up order , like 8 bit armies has now, is enough.
sorry what the hell you talking about at all you clearly no nothing of RA 3
in RA 3 MP all 3 sides were usually about evenly played and were all fully viable.
And that's why its so hard to balance such game out.
Allright that example. Allied don't have a building crane like the Soviet.
It means the soviet player can place a second production buildings and produce twice as fast buildings.
Crusher Crane= Cost 1500 credits /Build time 00:15
You start with 10.000 credits.
It means you have still a lot of credits to go, most soviet players leave the crane make buildings and drive with the MCV ( Mobile construction vehicles) around and claim more expansions.
Allied faction cant do it.
So they can't properly expand their build radius compared to other factions.
Besides tech levels are "bounded" to the Allied MCV , so if you move it , your buildings do lose tech level.
Japan doesn't even need buildradius , they can place their buildings anywhere.
Anyway my point is, no developer should ever waste his time with such game play mechanics, like give each faction own build style.
-maybe people will not understand how to use it properly
-maybe it turns out to be bad balanced
-maybe after several patches ,it's not what it was supposed to be.
The risk and resources for such stuff is to high.
Its better to have like in old days several Factions with same but solid build up and different units.
look for example KKND2

All 3 factions did have almost same build up by buildings, units were different, it still rocks!
I can't agree with this. Every faction having the same base building mechanic is too stuck in the past. Having factions that subvert standard base building has been the defining quirk of Petroglyph's RTSs since Universe at War.
Did you ever heard of ?
Submarine Titans (2000) / Atrox(2001) / Earth 2160 (2005) / Maelstrom (2007)
Yes that are fun games and different build up.
Yes that games are classics and fun, but well balance is a curse for RTS games since Starcraft.
The problem is you have than to master each build up and already here I see a lot of people who can't even build by 8-bit armies.
I mean since Starcraft a lot fo people demand different factions, but in same time balanced game, what most developers can't make properly.
That can make for majority of RTS players and developers a game just too complicated.
like KKND2 or several modes for Tiberium Sun.

This is an amazing idea. If they do that and make a little campaign for each new faction, this could be the RTS game I've been waiting my whole life for.
My pick for faction, although it's not exactly a classic, is the Elder God type shown in the cancelled Human Resources game.
Part of me still hopes, that Planetary Annihilation squabbles aside, that Human Resources gets uncancelled. The game seemed to have much more potential in regards to humor and new mechanics. I am also still very curious as to what that unrevealed, third faction tied to stretch goals would have been.
