If that is what they mean by different and new factions well this game isn't for me.
Replace tanks with orks, marines with skeletons, and rocket soldiers with crossbows, really??
Devs: Please confirm you're not going to do this, please...

I also adore the idea of potential clashes of classic RTS game styles.
That screenshot totally reminds me of warcraft, but what I really want to know.
Will factions possibly feature different build styles?
Some games like age of empires for example has workers buildings structures, rather than the classic C&C situation where you build from an HQ.
Then there's games like total annihilation where you have a commander who acts as a builder and is the core of the faction.
I'm not sure how well it'd translate balancewise though.
But ye, like ArchAngel says, hopefully it's not just skin changes.
But: MP Games or Skirmishes can only be made with one of these types (Or: The host has the option to decide if he wants to allow all or just one faction type). That way we'd have sort of 3 games in one.
I was hoping the complexity of the game would rise with each new faction, not just keep the same simple design that we have right now.
Again i might be wrong, and i hope that im wrong!
Sure, if you like that kind of complexity.
Not sure what your beef actually is. You don't seem to like the game, which is fine. But this game never pretends to be complex. It is mend to be easy. Time will tell if that turn into easy to learn, hard to master, but I'd like to think it will.
Well i never said i didn't like it, i even said i had high hopes for it.
And iam fine with games being simple. My problem aparently was i had pre built expectations on what kind of future content the game would have.
And yes probably the game isn't for me, and ill admit it, it is totaly fine. And even though i probably won't play it, i hope it does well and suceeds.
The concept is nice, but i just hoped for different future content, like more complex factions, maybe even economy models.
And yes the fantasy theme does put me off a bit, is that a negative for other people? or a bad thing? no, its totaly fine.
I personaly just don't like it.
