Major Framerate Stutter when using Melee Weapons like baseball bats and sledges
Hi! So I'm having a little bit of an issue, its not the end of the world but its very annoying, anytime im using a melee weapon like a baseball bat, sledgehammer or guitar, every time I hit a zombie my game seems to just lock up and freeze for a slight moment (maybe 0.5-1 second) and it ruins the flow of the game and gets me hurt alot etc. But this problem doesnt happen with stuff like the chainsaw, hunter knife, cleaver, guns, etc. I can deal with it but does anyone know how to fix it? Other than this, the game runs totally flawless.

I'm running the game max everything (but have also tried to lower stuff to see if that was the problem, it wasnt, had no impact) on an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and my processor is an i7 6700k @4.0GHz, PC is 3 weeks old, brand new lol..so I know for a fact this problem is a game problem, not a hardware issue. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this it would be much appreciated, thank you and happy gaming! :)

Stuttering when hitting an enemy?
Everytime I go to hit a zombie I get a little stutter in frames? Anyone know what is causing this?

That's part of the game.
It's supposed to create a feeling of your weapons having a devasting impact.
It doesn't quite work as well on 60fps.

not onlny when hit, i have contant 1080p/60fps but most time looks like 30fps, not smooth.

It's mostly contained to the blunt weapons, like sledgehammers, park benches, and 2x4s. It's annoying, but a lot of the really good weapons are sharp (katana, small chainsaw, machete), so it's not unbearable.

Xbox 360 had same issue especially with the sledgehammer. I never did like that so i barely used it for that reason.

Hi there,

What you're seeing known as hit-stop[tvtropes.org], a feature that was carried over from the original Xbox 360 version. The effect is designed to dramatize impact from hard hits, and you'll see this effect is use in many Capcom games.

The effect primarily occurs with blunt objects or items that bounces off of zombies. Weapons such as swords and chainsaws that slice through enemies won't have this effect.

Protip: use bladed weapons instead. The Katana, Hunting Knife, Cleaver, Small Chainsaws, Laser Sword, etc. They don't use hit-stop. The Ceremonial Sword from Sean does though strangely.

The game pauses slightly after you kill an enemy.

I had no idea that hitstop was such a foreign concept to so many people. It isn't a bug, it isn't an issue. It's a deliberate design choice to create a stronger feeling of impact.
