The "remaster" is bad & outsourced to a Chinese company.
This is why Larry got censored, and possibly why the Vietnam reference was taken out.

Watched the Digital Foundry analysis and immediately felt better about not buying it. The game might be more detailed but it's hideous and there are less zombies on screen than the original. Really quite a pointless product

Yeah, but people would rather blame "woke" leftists. The idea that games have to be changed for Chinese markets doesn't register as something a lot of conservative gamers care about since usually those changes are stuff they agree with like no LGBT stuff.

I like it, most people seem to like it. If you're a broke boy just say that.

you and the 1k concurrent players no doubt bout that.

1,097 playing 17 min ago
1,657 - 24-hour peak
4,979 - all-time peak

Ouch... and the game was released 11 days ago, fyi in single player titles the numbers wont improve unless there's a big discount soon, i expect 500 concurrent players by october 29th.
For a game from big AAA jp publisher like capcom, 4.9k all time peak and less than 2k concurrent players few days after release is a massive flop.

TBH i feel bad for DRDR, had almost zero marketing, outsourced to the same developers that made resident evil 3 remake, considered by many of the fanbase as a mediocre game, its a chinese developer so no wonder why they censored and removed the chinese psychopat and all the vietnam and vietcong dialogues. It's offensive for communism and modern audiences. Then giving less revealing outfits to some characters, removing the erotica genre... The price for a "remaster" is high cuz DR franchise wasn't something big to begin with and of course cherry on top, DENUVO DRM.

finally, dead rising 4 was a massive disaster, it killed dead rising franchise i think even caused layoffs and clousure of capcom vancouver division
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capcom_Vancouver

"Capcom announced the closure of the studio in September 2018, cancelling Dead Rising 5 and moving other development to their Japan-based studios. "

For the next 6 years no dead rising 5, no other dead rising games until... DRDR and here we are, 4,979 peak, it's not promising for the future of DR franchise at all.

1k concurrent in the middle of the night for most of the developed world. It had a hundred thousand sales or more already on steam alone, and it's also on Xbox and Playstation which is where most people will play it. Pretty good for a remaster of a 20 year old game in a franchise that died years ago.

Capcom made a profit and introduced a great game to potentially hundreds of thousands of new fans which might even be enough to reboot the franchise. Nobody cares that you can't upskirt Jessie anymore. I feel bad for all the turbovirgins outing themselves because they can't take erotic pictures of zombies anymore.

all the people in the dead rising and the remaster's forums going "game's woke yuck going to play the original", and there's only 136 people in-game.
do people just hate the original now?

Almost as if the game launched on platforms other than PC. Dead Rising has always been a niche franchise, and the link you sent only tracks PC stats.

Thanks for proving me right? I said 100K just on steam, close enough for an estimate. It's a console game, didn't even originally release on PC. Most of the sales will come from console players. Buying things you like doesn't make you a "corporate sheep" lol, you're just fragile.

so you're looking at videos and numbers to make up your opinion? instead of buying the game, coming to your own conclusions and refunding? sounds pretty sheeplike to me.
