Saving the people at the outbreak in entrance plaza
Is it even possible? I've cleared the entire place, closed to, getting at least one guy safe, but they wont follow you. I run up the stairs to continue (respawns start) and then I never see them again.

I assume its scripted so they auto die, should you be able to save one or two, or is it actually possible to rescue them ?

Nope, even if you clear it out they'll just stand there. There's no way to get them to follow you.

Yeah that's what I thought.

What's even more rediculous is if you clear it all out up to the door, you can turn around and find zombies behind you all the way back where you started from. Teleporting zombies!

Yeah, the random spawn often looks pretty ridiculous.
Sometimes I even see zombies appearing out of nothing in front of me.
Ghost zombies :O

But it's like it was on 360, so...

They're supposed to die / canon means they died. You can get a shotty very early on thanks to this though.

Also ffs. You see people barricading a glass wall with notcool things on the other side and you start tripping on your denture paste vapors and open the door for your overbred mongrel. ♥♥♥♥ you lady. Thoroughly. With a sharp object.

What I wonder is how did the zombies get into the rest of the mall so quickly?

And the Maintenance Tunnels? I can't find any large doors leading to the outside of the mall from the tunnels, and zombies are all the way in Paradise Plaza already when the only way to get there is all the way through most of the mall this early on. Yea yea I know, imposing logic onto chaos.

It would have made more sense if there were no zombies in the mall until you did Backup for Brad. Entering the Food Court begins this scoop right away and the only other connection to Entrance Plaza at this time was Al Fresca Plaza and all the tunnel doors require the key.

Alright, I'll stop using logic now.

Could be they were already in most parts and paradise plaza was actually the only place that was sealed off.

Until that old wrinkly ♥♥♥♥ did what she did though. jesus.

That actually makes sense. Like in Dawn of the Dead zombies were already in the mall when they arrived. So yes, Entrance Plaza was sealed off from Al Fresca at the start of the game, and the only exit was the front door and the Security Room door. So possibly they were there and Entrance Plaza happened to be the only safe area to start.

That and we don't really know what exactly happened inside the mall right from the start up until frank arrives on the roof. It'd be too convenient if most of the mall was locked off and the fact that brad somehow has keys to all the gates and seemingly tried to "organize" any sort of defense would suggest they got driven back from all over the place presumably.
Eh that's my €0,02 anyways. At the end of the day it's still "Why? Because videogames". :P

I'm assuming Brad arrived at the mall early after hearing Barnaby received the call to go there. He then got the keys from Otis (who probably arrived to go to work like usual, then discovered the zombies and went to the Security Room). The people who arrived who weren't zombies were told by Brad to barricade the entrance doorway, and then Frank arrives when the ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan, que the "what the hell are you people doing!"
