Special Forces Helicopter

Has anyone been able to take down the Special Forces helicopter as Im really struggling with it.

It can go down with a single sniper shot to the rear engine.
As a matter of fact, I managed to do it first try, one clean shot.

its pretty easily actually, grab 3 or 4 machine guns from spec ops dudes and shoot the tail of the chooper, it took me 3 shots to take it down.

I remember doing it quiet easy with a few hunting rifles from the roof of something in the park.

So you are supposed to aim at the rotor? I always used to aim at the pilot. Maybe that's why it always takes me so long to take it down...

That's what I remembered roughly and it worked first try so I guess that's it haha

Btw, I downloaded your guide the other day and it is fantastic. I have been taking a look and there's a lot of work put into it

Thanks, there's one issue with the Item Smasher achievement though. It is fixed in the upcoming version, but you have to break items by hitting zombies with the item (i.e. lead pipe breaks after hitting so many zombies). Had that confused since it's been so long since I did it.

This chopper is bafflingly difficult for me to take down. I've shot the tail rotor several times, I've shot the main rotor several times and I've also shot the pilot(s) several times with no results.

Figured out a super easy strategy:

Grab a couple machine guns from Special Forces dudes, go outside and climb on the picnic area roof. Wait for the helicopter to do a strafing run attack on you with its machine guns. Immediately turn around and look up in the sky, shoot the tail rotor area NOW while it's very close and turning. If you're lucky, it will go down in only a few shots.

Aiming at pilots does nothing for me.
Aiming at main rotor does nothing for me.

The key is the tail rotor when it's close and underneath you.

Same. I spent almost 8 in game hours shooting at the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing but it refuses to die.

I got lucky using the sniper rifle I just shot at the tail.

I shot it down and it came back a bit later but was invisible lol
