Anyone else loves DR1 but can't stand the others?
Maybe because Dead Rising 1 was developed by the japanese. Maybe because of goofy Frank, and the only concern he had was getting his story while keeping his skin intact. Unlike the sequels, where you had premade relations.

For me, Dead Rising 2 got boring mid way. While Dead Rising 3 was unbearable from the start (nothing about that game was intriguing). Even though the sequels offer more in terms of gameplay.

Which makes me cautiously optimistic about Dead Rising 4. I mean, I'm glad they are bringing back Frank, but I hope Capcom VANCOUVER understands what made him a great character in an awesome game to begin with.

I really LOVED Dead Rising 1, as it is my favorite game of all time. 2 in my opinion was pretty damn good too, Having simple and not insane stupid combo weapons that 3 and 4 have now, along with a great story. 3 was a weird change. It was fun for sure but was not a dead rising game in my eyes. 4 is so called a dead rising game where the protagonist is a 12 year old immature kid in a 52 year old mans body with an illness thinking he is the famous Frank West

you just spoiled the twist of DR4!

Dead Rising 1 was the best in the series IMO. You're thrown into a mall filled with zombies and crazy people and you have to survive 3 days for your pilot to come pick you back up. It's simple and has a nice, kinda creepy atmosphere to it. DR2 is when the series went downhill, with more focus on crazy random crap you can do/make and it felt more cartoony.
This is definitely the best one, with OTR being second best, DR2 being the third. Haven't even touched DR3. Disappointed with the way DR4 looks though, for one Frank isn't even voiced by his original voice actor, and his personality is completely messed up.
Dead Rising 2 is okay. It's hideous to look at and all of the characters are boring and awful. It misunderstands the tone of Dead Rising and has a bad story. It's also way too easy. But despite all that it still contains traces of Dead Rising and can be fun.

Dead Rising 2 OTR is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ version of Dead Rising 2 that somehow has an even worse story, worse characters, and worse graphics. Capcom Vancouver brought back Frank but completely misunderstood the character and turned him into a sociopathic, meme spewing, vulgar idiot.

Dead Rising 3 misses the point entirely and is just a gray and brown musou with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing and obnoxious map design.

Dead Rising 4 looks to be even worse and contains absolutely none of what I loved about Dead Rising. Thanks Capcom Vancouver for consistently failing to make a sequel that lived up to the original while also ruining the series.

They don't. He looks and acts nothing like Frank. They couldn't even be bothered to get Frank's voice actor for him (they didn't even contact him).

Dead Rising 4 is a game in which they've removed the timer entirely and given you regenerating health. It's been focus tested to hell and developed by clueless morons.

Different isn't automatically bad. Disappointing, perhaps, but not bad.
Except in this case it is bad.
1 was easily the best, 2 was okay, 3 was just not that great.
Dead Rising 1 was unique in its attempts to be like a zombie b-movie from the 70s/80s. Mixed with the simple yet open-ended nature of the gameplay, it was a pretty good game. 2 and OTR were good, but lacked a lot of the charm, simply because it tried to stuff too much into that original concept. Dunno why, but the crafting system in DR2 just felt ill-fitting and boring.
DR 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DR 2,>>>>>DR3
Dead Rising 1 was by far the best one for many reasons. It was a serious game that you had to take seriously or else you got a bad ending. There were no wacky weapons unless you count giant teddy bears or squirt guns that did literally zero damage (the plasma blaster and light saber were actually difficult to unlock). There were like 20+ bosses and the mall was a great location because you felt trapped yet free to explore. DR2 was too open and felt like you were in an arcade the whole game. DR3 said ♥♥♥♥ it and threw you in the world's blandest most boring city ever created filled with 5 barrel assault rifles.
The first Dead Rising is the best of the lot. It was and still is the closest to a Dawn of The Dead Game we will ever get. I just love the Japanese take on American culture.

It had slapstick humor but without the silly combo weapons and ridiculous power armor. Time was of the essence when it came to prioritizing tasks. You could ruin the game by not getting to an event on time. Most complained, but it was completely doable.

Then they ruined the series by not continuing the Frank and Isabella story. Instead we got a total d****he named Chuck Green and a completely different game engine. The tone was way off too. That's what happens when you out source.

i liked 1, hated the map layout for 2 and the focus on crafting items together for neat weaponry. played it enough to experience the story then got OTR. hated frank in that one and dropped the ♥♥♥♥ out of. im glad capcom brought the only good dead rising to pc. never thought they would.
I love Dead Rising 1, I'm so glad Capcom is bringing it to PC, since I haven't played it in about 7 years. Dead Rising 2 felt pretty good to me, although I never liked Chuck much. I'm still trying to forget DR3.
I first played dead rising 1 2007 but never finished it.. haven't done it still.. but for some reason i love it, Dead rising 2 on the other hand i've finished an played many times it was extremely easy and fun with a friend, dead rising 3 was meh.. dead rising 4 on the other hand looks extrremely bad.. frank west voices is gone the graphics look the worst it's ever been.. even worse than 2 dead rising 1 looked even better than those graphics.. and 4 player co op? no thanks i rather have 2 player co op.. with the full story and a time limit.
