I think my GPU is good .... maybe RAM i can get 8gb :)
but RAM probably not solve the problem

The only thing I can think of is your GPU might not be getting enough power, I've been getting crappy FPS because I pushed my PSU too much so it's half dead and needs replaced. Grateful Dead might be trolling... a 6870 is fast enough for pretty much anything out if you're not running multiple monitors or something along those lines

The game never dipped below 50 fps on my quadcore Q6600 2,9 ghz, 4 gigs of DDR2 RAM and HD5750 GPU. Mostly I'd get my capped 75 fps. But now, the game's dipping as low as 30 fps. Something's wrong bigtime.

Your entire PC is good. Upgrading would not solve the problem.

I have i7-2600K, Radeon HD 6870 and 8GB RAM. I played maybe one year ago with 125 on high settings and now I have suddenly like 50-60 fps with a lot of lag... I dont get it :(

Black Ops 1 is extremely CPU intensive PERIOD. It's not your Vid card it's your CPU.
For example; My last rig I ran a Core 2 Quad at 2.8 with a 9800GT Vid card. I would get 60-90 fps most of the time. When I bought my new Vid card GTX 560 Superclocked it ran like total ♥♥♥♥ with my CPU and created a bottleneck. In a nut shell BO 1 is poorly scripted and YOU WILL get better fps in other games, because they favor your vid card and are scripted/coded better. Also what you can try is what I used before my upgrade. You can view it here on my website http://www.clanphoenix.org/forum/m/887593/viewthread/3625204-black-ops-gameplay-optimization - Just register and you'll be able to view the thread. good luck!

Hello i used this config but no change....only 30-45fps max....if i looked in to the sky i have 125 but in game i have only 30-40 :( In Nuketown i have 45fps max but in Nuketown 2025 in Black ops 2 i have 80fps on max settings

I think that you'll find that Southpaw is pointing you in the right direction with regards to a CPU bottleneck being the issue. I have a well overspeced system (i7 and a 5850) which has struggled to play BO since it's launch - all be it with a slightly different problem to which you are having,

Basically my system would momentarily hang/hitch/stutter/lag whenever I came into first contact with the enemy and fired, and to a lesser extent throughout the game when firing. I have tried many so called fixes without success until this week. Now, although I never have had issues with low fps, there is a possibility that the issues that you are having and the issues that I had are connected. With that in mind I suggest you watch this youtube video and try the fixes that the uploader mentions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q4lBh44Y0Q

If you try this fix and it works you will need to install a utility called Process Lasso (freeware) in order to save the changes - otherwise you will have to make the changes every time that you start the game.

I was highly doubtful that I would ever get this game running properly but it would seem that this fix has done the trick and I now have a smooth running game.

GeForce 520 GT

You need a better graphics card.

AMD Gigabyte HD 6870 OC 1GB

You should upgrade your graphics card and get more RAM.

bull i have a xfx 5770 i run on max

download 12.6 drivers for amd, it's a driver issue
FrEak4z©i† [U!] 17 MAR 2013 a las 4:49
12.6 doesnt work on windows 8. If i install the driver my Os crashes a lot. Which driver on win 8 is the best for Bo1 ?
SPAWN 17 MAR 2013 a las 6:13
I run a Nvidia 285 and an i7 920 quad core processor and I've had zero issues. So maybe Joaogio is correct that it is an AMD/ATI issue.
