making a new server

hello, me and my brother want to create a new server for black ops 1, does anyone know how to go about doing that?

then how do these other people have custom servers?

providers stop supporting game, working servers can be "alive" till you pay bills for rent servers, but they dont allow you create new one. So you have to support these few servers who left, because when they dont have cash for bills, they will be shut down forever.

Have some servers gone down? some of the usual ones I play arent on the browser.

the only people that have those servers still had them beforehand

Activision is the company that gave Gameservers a monopoly on hosting. This is the result. Gameservers is barely holding on and probably won't be around much longer. When that happens, there will be nothing left but third party servers that no one wants to play on.
