Multiplayer Shutting Down

Hi All,

As many of you know, gameservers have stopped people from being able to host ranked servers from their website, I'm not sure the reason but maybe their "contract" has expired with Activision/Treyarch, who knows.

Now my question is, are the current populated servers that are up like "PSN" a ticking time bomb and will all soon be shutdown or are they able to host the servers themselves? i don't know much about servers but i think that this needs to be addressed cause the game is still being sold full price and marked as "multiplayer" and if the servers are all going offline i think its abit of a scam, a similar thing happened with W@W where none of us could create online profiles but thats thankfully been fixed however i think this server hosting issue is a bigger problem.

I doubt they would but it would be good if they updated the game to have the console multiplayer menu and have parties and to be like the other cods where we can search for a match and not have to rely on server browsers but obvs there wouldnt be admins to boot cheaters :/

I've seen online that there's files to download for Black Ops Multiplayer servers but that might be just for "Unranked" or something unrelated about hosting.

If anyone has any info on how long we have left for multiplayer, please let us know lol :)

GS are no longer selling new subscriptions for Black Ops servers. The servers they offer are very few and most don't make sense. It is my understanding that the servers that are currently online will continue to be until they are canceled by the server owner. Both of our server are paid for the next year at least. So if they were to shut down they would also have to refund money.

For now you just have to enjoy the servers that are remaining. Once they are gone, that is it and only third party platforms will be viable. This is the result of giving one company a monopoly on game server hosting and not releasing software that will allow us to host our own servers.

Same with other games that are no longer supported except by a third party platform.

I don't think the RCE issue is on server browsers matches, only player hosted matches like black ops 3 etc

Is it down now when I launch the game it loads but I stay at the downloading game settings while it buffers for eternity nothing happens?

Starting yesterday, I keep getting

"Downloading Game Settings"
It is very worrying I don't want to loose this game its great fun.
I've had it since it came out

My way out is to "Hit the Esc button" then I'm in the game.

same problem loanding game settings , esc button dont work , tryed to check game files now is not even open :)
