Black ops server files
Hello :)

I have found some files online that claim to be the official black ops server files.

They were leaked back in 2014 on unknowncheats.me by a guy called "watafakingnub".

Problem is, I can't get them to work!
There are two exe files, I guess one for singleplayer and the other one for multiplayer but both output errors when I try to run them.

Now I have worked a while with it and fixed a few error messages:
"Exceeded limit of 256 'stringtable' assets." output by CoDMPServer.exe can be fixed by deleting "patch_mp.ff" in "Call of Duty - Black Ops PC Server\zone\Common".
Now you get a warning in the console_mp.log that the file is missing but it does not seme like this has any consequences.

"ERROR: cannot read license key file" output by "CoDMPServer_s.exe" can be fixed by
creating a "start-server.bat" file and adding the following content:
"@echo off
start CoDMPServer_s.exe +set dedicated 2 +set live_service 1 +set sv_licensenum 0 +set dw_licensefile license.dat +set net_port 3074 +exec server.cfg +map mp_nuked"
And also adding a "license.dat" file in the "Call of Duty - Black Ops PC Server" folder.
Now running the .bat file should fix the error.
But it creates a new one!

And that's the point where I'm stuck at right now:
"Com_ERROR: Dedicated server authentication failure.".
I guess the license.dat file needs to contain a sequence to authenticate as a server, and I have no clue how this should look like, nor how to bypass it.

I need to say that they are not the latest files cause the file version is:
"COD_T5_R MP build 7.0.61 CL(794515) CODPCAB-V64 Fri Nov 05 11:33:52 2010"
and the current version of the game is:
"COD_T5_S MP build 7.0.189 CL(1022875) CODPCAB-V64 CEG Wed Nov 02 18:02:23 2011"

But, if anyone is interested in the files and could help, use the magnet link on se7ensins.com.
Sometimes the torrent is offline, so getting the files depends on luck!
But I can also share them on my cloud.

Great question!
The zip contains multiple files, two .exe files, two .pdb and .map files from the .exe files.
So we could recreate the source code for the .exe files with that.
And it claims to be the official black ops server files.
So achieving to run the .exe files without any error should give us an official server online that is accessible via steam for free :)

I can't seem to download from any of the links you provided. Can you re upload these. I would be interested in looking at this.

Also, have you used hexeditor to look into the exe's themselves?

I haven't used hex yet!
I just took a look at the pdb files and map files in Visual Studio.
Looks llike they used C++.
