Game-breaking glitch in Vorkuta
I just bought this game new a few days ago, and I've already encountered a game-breaking glitch. In Vorkuta, when you have to fight your way to the garage for step 6, Reznov disappears and doesn't open the door. I've tried restarting the level, the game, re-installing the game, just about everything, and nothing seems to work! Nothing on the internet is helping, besides an option that involves getting another disk, and I don't wanna spend money for a new one unless necessary, so please help!

I can play through that one just fine. Verify the game cache?

Are you sure its a glitch and not how the story is just played out?

Yeah, I've looked it up, and it's a glitch. And I did wait, for like half an hour, and nothing happened.

What part is it exactly and what happens ( and what is supposed to happen )?

It's the part shortly after you have to open the first garage door for the prisoners. What's meant to happen is that after you kill off all the guards, you're meant to follow Reznov to another garage door, and he's meant to (apparently) use a blowtorch to open the door while you cover him. What happens to me is that Reznov just disappears, and I'm stuck in that warehouse. I can't progress any further no matter what I do.

Hmm, I've never had that.

You've tried reinstalling DirectX and everything also?

Yeah, and my multiplayer seems to work, so no idea what the problem is. I'm gonna try again once the cache's done verifying.

PC specs? Tried updating your video driver?

Tried starting a whole new game? Like even deleting your saves folder and restarting?
=GSG= Iron Dan Jun 9, 2013 @ 3:22pm
Tried all that, nothing. Just tried it again now, still not working.

And I'm not sure what exactly to put for specs, so here goes:

i5-2450 2.5 GHz
Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz
610M with 1 GB Dedicated VRAM
4 GB DDR3 Memory
500 GB HDD

And not sure what else is relevant. I've hardly ever had issues with my games, so I'm still getting used to this.

And I use an Acer laptop.

Wait, are you overclocking?
=GSG= Iron Dan Jun 9, 2013 @ 3:59pm
Overclocking?
Laptop Jun 9, 2013 @ 4:01pm
Yeah, from your specs it says your processor has been boosted to 3.1 GHz
=GSG= Iron Dan Jun 9, 2013 @ 4:03pm
Ah, right. Well, to be honest, I'm not sure myself. I haven't done anything as far as I know, it says it on my actual laptop (on a label), it came like that apparently.

Sorry for my ignorance, I'm still getting used to learning the insides of a computer.

Oh right. If you're overclocking then that may be causing it. Overclocking can cause games to mess up.
