Saved games

How does one go about using saved games when one had to reinstall Stream/COD: BOps. I was able to backup my save games prior to reinstalling the game. I copied the save games into the ..."Steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty black ops\players\save" folder. Now when I start the game from the main screen, the continue campaign is missing. Instead there is "start a new game. I don't want to start from the begining of the game all over again if I don't have to.

I am assuming that the save games are being overwritten by the program? Again, need to find out how to load saved games in order to continue where I left off during the game.

You put your saves C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\players right?

When you go to that main screen, press 'select mission'. Then go back, you should be able to continue the campaign again. For some reason it doesn't appear the first time.

The program doesn't overwrite save files. Well it does, but no in the way you're going on about. For example if you are in the middle of a mission, and then you leave and start another, it will forget that you played the previous mission's save point. Same with if you play a mission of Recruit, and then play on Veteran, it will overwrite and do it on Veteran.

Thanks for help. Activision informed me that one has to do a backup through the main stream portal. So, I guess I will have to start game all over :-(
