Shader Warming?
Anyone know what that means>? Other then some Graphics setting I cant imagine it being anything else.

I've no idea actually, I remember enabling it in the past but nothing changed aside from longer loading screens.

I know the what shader warming is ... it adds some shadows in every frame. but it do not change much difference to the game. It warms the shader by fetching everything that the shader needs beforehand, so far I have seen no difference in gameplay other than the unwanted addition of "Shader Warming..." in bright red text at the bottom left of my screen every time there is a map transition. A fantastic addition from a realism point of view, sarcasm not withstanding.
to answer the question..., in basic terms it is a form of pre loading certain elements of the game during map load, to reduce stutter during gameplay

was a cheap hotfix back then, bad pc port/optimization

Until like, a year-and-a-half after the original Black Ops was released, the PC version had really bad stuttering issues due to how the game pre-loaded textures and shaders; this was a problem on even mega-rigs of the time. Shader Warming basically fixes that issue altogether.

thx dude
Seems useful

Because bo1 still stutters for me at the start of a zombies match, Mp match (but sometimes my stutter is based on ping, so I’m talking stutter on servers where I’d have like <60 ping), and campaign mission
It goes away after a while
It seemed to help a little in Mp, but it makes loading screens long, so I join the game slightly later

I might turn it off in mp, but keep it for sp

Running on a 3.5" WD Black HDD right now. I hope moving the game to a SATA SSD really helps on the shader warm time!
