Campaign Discussion [SPOILERS]
Did the ending scene before credits insinuate that Mason was the real man responsible for the Kennedy assassination?

In the game, we know he was supposed to be programmed to murder the president, but wouldn't quite crack under brainwashing. It was the comforting words of his friend in captivity Viktor Reznov that landed up getting written to his conditioned, weakened mind. Hence his determination to slay the men that wronged Reznov. However, his quest for vengeance took place some years later, in '68. Obviously, JFK was assassinated in real life in '63, which in the game I believe is when you escaped from the Russian prison. The film reel at the end is edited to show a blurry image of Mason present there as Kennedy entered the motorcade that fateful day. Is this to imply that he, not Oswald, was the real killer? Or perhaps since Oswald was also a deranged marine vet, that perhaps this fictional character was inspired in some part by the real life villainy of Lee Harvey Oswald?
