does the row version come with all the dlc?

im surprised this hasnt been asked earlier. i see it on sale atm, but i really dont want to spend an additional 45$ for the map packs.

no, DLCs aren't part of the ROW version of BO1. after buying BO1's ROW version, you still need to purchase DLC map packs (there are 4 of them) separately if you want to play DLC content. I think ROW means that product is not restricted or censored in any way. some countries and areas of the world have different versions than ROW. for example, russian version of BO1 is sold cheaper than ROW, but language options are very limited. also german version of BO1 has some censorship regarding sensitive things like swastikas.

and map packs aren't worth buying anyway, unless you're a very huge fan of treyarch zombies who also have friends with BO1 DLCs. multiplayer maps of BO1 DLCs are very rarely played on dedicated servers and DLC zombie maps have very small community on public lobbies. the only viable way to enjoy DLC zombie maps is searching for players on steam forums or finding discord groups with people interested playing.

thanks for the info. really wanted to get this for the gf as she loves zombies but i cant really justify spending 70+dollars on a 10 year old game.

as of 2019, black ops 3's steam version is a good choice for starters of treyarch zombies. steam version of bo3 also includes zombies chronicles DLC for free, which has 8 remake maps from previous games. game also has mod tools and custom created content by fans integrated to steam workshop. plenty of custom maps, modes, weapons, perks, easter eggs etc. to try when bored of base game maps. for bo3, activision also allows buying DLC zombie maps individually on steam store. it saves money, if you want to snipe DLC maps you want to play and ignore the ones you aren't interested in playing. you can check game's steam store page, system requirements and gameplay videos on youtube to have more info about it.
