Is there a mod for full controller support?
While I am glad and thankful for the upgrade to at least partial controller support compared from WAW’s 1/4 controller support, it’s (for a lack of better words) jarring and slightly inconvenient to be playing with a controller and then have switch to a mouse to navigate any menu. I don’t even see the mouse cursor on the main menu as if it was designed for controllers. It’s not the end of the world if there isn’t a mod for such but man it would be one of those quality of life additions to the game that would be greatly appreciated.

there's no mouse cursor on the main menu because it would hamper the immersion of being Alex Mason tied to a chair while being interrogated. you can use mouse wheel to move up/down while roaming on menus at television screen Alex Mason looks at.

although there can always be improvements for controller support on PC, it's hard to please everyone in such cases. even if they had added that feature, there could be people who complained of no auto-aim for controllers on PC. if you ever follow the news of latest cod game modern warfare/warzone, there's some hot debate about cross-platform between consoles and PC (keyboard & mouse vs. controllers).

nothing personal against you, but some of the changes made by devs to appease controller users can affect the gameplay negatively for keyboard & mouse users, or vice versa. in your case, I wouldn't mind controllers being used on menus but what worries me is the next concession the controller users could ask for...

lastly, PC version of this game is naturally designed for mouse & keyboard. I suggest you getting used to those two gadgets, especially if you plan to play multiplayer. if you currently own an xbox 360, playstation 3 or xbox one (backwards compatibility), you can play the game with a controller functioning properly as expected.

Well I understand exactly where you’re coming from. Having spent plenty of time in the halo master chief collection forums where those controllers vs keyboard and mouse debates are exhaustingly present or were when I was still on those forums (don’t know if they still are).

However, I’m not asking for an official patch. Just looking to see if a mod that affects only me exists. It’s like I said just slight inconvenient to have to switch between a controller to a mouse just to exit a zombies match. It’s not the end of the world if there’s no such thing. It’s just a small quality of life change I don’t need but would like to have if it’s available. I don’t play online, and even if I did it would just be zombies with a friend. Possibly two if another one gets the game.

I bought the pc version because I have none of the consoles that could run it and my pc would run it better anyways. I really don’t care about the whole keyboard and mouse vs controller thing too much. I’ll play whichever when I feel like it or need to. However, I’m most comfortable with a controller in my hand. Hence why I’m just looking to see if a menu mod exists. Something that’s harmless and would fix a minor inconvenience. It should only affect me.

I don't know of a specific mod that can do what you request. black ops 1 on PC wasn't that mod-friendly anyway, unlike cod 4, waw and black ops 3. perhaps it can be done via third party programs which are sometimes used for games not natively supporting controllers on PC. you can search those programs on internet; I believe there are several of them.

and just for informing; black ops 2 is the first CoD game on PC which fully and natively supports controllers, providing the same experience like on console. controller support on PC for shooter genre actually became popular after 2010s. sorry if I sounded angry and disrespectful. I just wanted to point out the potential negative results of merging controller and keyboard & mouse players into same matchmaking pool for online modes. but as you said, that doesn't matter for people who mainly play campaign or co-op modes.

It’s cool I understand exactly where you’re coming from. The whole controller versus keyboard and mouse controversy can be extremely exhausting. Thank you though for answering my question!

I am really kind of disappointed on how dismissive you are. That's just not true. I use a controller personally because of an injury, so using mouse and keyboard can be somewhat painful over long periods of time.

There was this one video that sort of debunked all the arguments most people have when complaining about controllers. Its quite frustraiting for a game that is past its competative prime for people to worry about controllers when the worst thing would be presieved multiplayer inbalances which would be more placibo then anything else. The gameplay is broken with a controller on pc its laughable to call it even partially compatable. Its not about main menu control for me its about the rediculous sensitivity, and general quality of life issues. Compared to how ti partial controller support on something like GTA San Andreas is -- this is a bad joke. I just want to be able to play the best version of zombies with fun modded maps, while being injuried -- im sorry if that causes you fear in regards to how it may eventually affect the competetive landscape of a game that is nearly 10 years old
