What do you mean by 'the same internet connection'? If we connected with the same router? No. We both have different ISP and live in different cities.
Make sure you have the required ports open for steam and black ops . They are the first results on google , and you need to add them to your router . Then add a static IP to your own PC , that should help your connection problems .
If your still stuck add me i can try help i have fixed my fair share of black ops connectivity problems over the years :)
Luckily I managed to fix the problem. I found a 'router-ports" solution for the Black Ops 1, applied and it works now. :)
