In the manual, there's always a registration code. I know this especially for Black Ops. I got a physical copy for PC when it first came out (although I didn't have a PC that could run it), and there was a verification code on the back side of the manual.
Yea, your probably right. If someone working at a thrift store is not a gamer, they probably don't know that once a pc game is used, that games cd-key is registered to someones online account for that game making the game useless in most cases. And even if the game was not registered yet, if they buy it without the cd-key included its useless as well. But to the original person who started this thread, you can still play the games single player campaign if your willing to get a file or two from a certain site and copy over the original games files with the ones you downloaded. I'm not saying you should do this nor am I advocating for anyone to ever do this I'm just telling you, it can be done. I have to be careful how I word that for obvious reasons.
