Yes. If you or your friend use any tools or run any software on your system that modifies or changes the game, then yes you will eventually get a VAC ban.

This is hilarious. 'Your friend' (You) is (are) an idiot. Level hacks aren't worth risking a ban for. (IMO, NO hack is worth risking a ban for.) There's a decent chance you'll get kicked from matches simply on the basis your using ANY hack, and there's a decent chance you'll get caught by VAC. Might not be this week, might not be this month, and it might not even be this YEAR (I know someone who got banned on a technicality after one and a half YEARS).
