Cannot Backup mw3 game files

Since 2 days I try to backup my gamefiles and it always says I have to validate and check integrity of local game files. I validated it several times every time I start the backup routine it says cannot backup while updating. Earlier this evening I validated my game files and after validating the modern warfare 3 folder was 5mb. I had to re-download over 20GB of game files and it is still not running. I never had problems with the other modern warfare games but this one is driving me nuts.

Can anyone please help me with this issue? I just want to backup the gamefiles that I do not have to re download 20 gb of game files and 20 gb of dedicated server files in case I have to redo my system. Why do I have to update the multiplayer I only want to play single player and the launcher does not let me start singleplayer without updating multiplayer.

Hi there, I tried this and when the backup starts it says "Backup failed" please verify game files....

Delete the appcache folder in Steam in the program files.

Hi just tried it, doesn´t work :/

I remember people have had issues with that since release, you could be better off copy + pasting the game files over to wherever you want to backup.
