Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3 (2011) - Multiplayer

Mode warfare accused me of torrent and banned me!
Ok so I got an email from my ISP saying that mode warfare said that I downloaded mw3 with uTorrent and that they would like me to remove it, I replied that I did not install it with a torrent at all 0_O and that I paid for the game with steam and installed it with steam… now a few days later I get a vac ban? And apparently it’s a perm ban
Now can someone tell me why I got accused for getting a game illegally and why I got banned! How do I get my money back : /

VAC bans have many reasons why someone can get VAC banned.
Did you used anykind of mods like addon camos or graphic enhancement like ENB or SweetFX?, even FPS Unlocker can get you VAC banned.

As we can see behind his name, he has a legit copy of Modern Warfare 3.
There is no way to use a non-legit key on steam so I think thats not the problem why he has been VAC banned.

if they could see that i purchased it then why did they say that i got it with torrent ?

Your ISP can`t see which games you bought for Steam or which games you have been registered on Steam.
The history purchase is a private list and only visible for you and steam if they had a reason to look into it.
And steam would disable your account if you bought a non-legit copy, VAC is a automated system it usually scans your game folder/memory of your specified game and if Valve's Anti-Cheat found something suspicious you get a VAC ban after some weeks.

As we can't help you with that kind of problem, you have to contact steam support if you want to know, why you have been VAC banned.

You've had your VAC ban for nearly 2 months now. These are issued for cheating / modding the game.

ISPs do not send you piracy warning letters from downloading stuff from Steam. You obviously downloaded a film(s) or game(s) without paying for it and ripped off the producers in the process, hence you have your ISP sending you a letter.

They do if they find you've been torrenting copyrighted software.

No. The company who the copyright holds does that. If the provider does it you live in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a country.

Yes I know. And the ISP is only doing it to avoid getting crap from copyright agencies. I don't personally see the problem with ISPs doing that, people shouldn't be ripping off film producers / game devs anyway.

You don't see a problem with the ISP monitoring your every connection to see if you maybe torrented some copyrighted material?

Are you serious?

Besides that is not what ISPs do.

Most ISPs don't watch for stuff. Other agencies do it and then they tell your ISP that they caught you doing this and that. If it's your first offence then most ISPs will just send you a letter saying "uh yeah don't do it again". They don't usually cut people off unless they have no other choice.

your isp will shut down your internet for downloading copyrighted torrents if you allow them access to your files. i have gotten this message from cox when i 1st started using torents. do not allow any remote access or 3rd party to view files on your pc and that will stop your cable provider from snooping. if you used your isp setup disk then youve given them access to your pc and the content you download. other than that your vac ban is unrelated to this.
