FPS drops
Hi,

Normally I have 60 FPS on ultra but when looking at some places, the framerate drops into the 50's or 40's. Here's my system:
AMD R9 270x 2 GB
AMD FX-8350 4 GHZ
8 Gigabyte RAM
Win7 64Bit

are you running beta 14.2? for me I get the best fps with that. AMD FX-8350 OC to 5.2 GHZ AMD Sapphire 7970 3gb 8gb ram win7 64bit (how full is your harddrive, try to keep at least 60gb free IT WILL HELP!)

as said update video card. also make sure vsync is off. and many players when looking at certain spots will get a drop specially if your computer is straining to run at 60 fps. i would get a drop with my old computer if i looked towards center of the maps. looking out or up i would not. not sure what your setting are at. are you trying to play the game with everything maxed out?

Yes, I'm trying to play the game at ultra. I updated my video card and turned vsync off but I still have these framerate drops. And I noticed that the game only uses 1 of 8 cores.
Black Ops 2 runs with 90 FPS

make sure your mother board bios is up to date there was an issue a while back with fx series cpu not working well with some games. the problem was cpu only using 1 core. a bios update was the fix. i have the same cpu with a better card and run steady 125 fps blops 2 and stays pegged at 90 on mw3 with zero fps drops and with maxxed out settings.

Sme videocard, same problem but I have w8 x64. I ran it just perfectly on my old 5770 and now I get FPS drops from 60 to 30-40. Updated motherboard's bios a long time ago (last version available) and video drivers, turned off vsync, nothing helped.

UPD: turning off the shadows, ambient oclussion stuff while putting everything else on max and even vsync works for me.....60 fps w/ vsync, 90 w/o it. I used to play it everything max for years but now its real confusion to see shadows dropping fps from 80+ to 40..

UPDATE aimed to whoever would search for fps drops in MW3. :spycon:

I said before that I got some heavy spikes in the game especially when aiming w/ sniper rifle, smoke, CQC etc. It is TOTALLY gone now without any real effort, I just reinstalled my mobo, CPU, video, ram sticks etc and cleared everything; now im playing full-HD maxed out w/ vsync and having 60 fps. Mobo's bad positioning e.c. one's textolite being slightly twisted caused those spikes, after installing all the stuff propertly the problem is gone!

And Im also using FX cpu and 270x videocard so this should be more than enough to play mw3 with comfort

FOR EVERYONE ONCE AGAIN: dont forget simply to check your hardware, maybe ur components are overheating, hdd is just defragmented or something else may ruin your experience! :wizard:
