Welcome to the land of Sarkis, where the undead have been reanimated through the use of ancient and terrible magic! Explore, loot, craft, and help to defend and rebuild the world from the tide of walking corpses who threaten to dismantle it. Face off against powerful bosses and enemies and partake in quests solo, with a few friends, or with up to 100 others in public worlds.

This Early Access Launch update adds world map search, a server-side backpack sort and Deposit X / Withdraw X at the bank, improves Steam Deck and Linux support, and includes a large multiplayer sync pass that fixes many cases where what you saw didn't match what the server saw.

In the new quest In Search of the Past, Losing the Future you can unlock the new Warp system to get around the map faster.

• Warp locations:

  • Joy Stone, at the village rune stones in the West Moorne

  • Longing Stone, deep in the Abyss

  • Bravery Stone, at Badongerst

  • Confusion Stone, just south of Guildhorne

  • Disgust Stone, in the Eastern Moorne

  • Anger Stone, on the Shimmering Kal

• A new Pouch equipment slot sits next to your Ammo slot on the Character tab. Wear a pouch to open the pouch row, five extra cells under your 30 slot backpack. Each pouch unlocks some of those cells for one family of items.

• There are ten pouch types in three sizes. The numbers are how many pouch cells each size unlocks:

• A pouch cell holds 20 herbs, reagents, ore, fish or produce (5 in your backpack), 15 logs (5 in your backpack), 100 feathers, arrow tips or unfeathered bolts (5 in your backpack) and 3 meals (1 in your backpack). Potions and tools still take one cell each.

• Pouches are made with Artisan at a Loom, in the new Pouches tab. The Basic Loom only makes Small pouches. Each recipe also needs the same skill level you need to wear the pouch.

  • Small (Artisan 2 to 19): 2 Ball of Wool, 1 Leather and an item from that pouch's family, such as 3 Copper Ore for an Ore Sack.

  • Medium (Artisan 21 to 40): 3 Cotton Yarn, 2 Fur and a family item.

  • Large (Artisan 41 to 55): 4 Spidersilk Threads, 2 Monster Leather and a family item.

  • The Tool Belt uses extra leather or fur instead of a family item.

• You never lose your worn pouch on death. What's inside it counts as part of your backpack and goes to Adon with your other items.

• You no longer have to finish a Focused Craft before you can use Craft 1 or Craft Many.

• Quality chance has been rebalanced.

• Auto crafts can now use extra materials. On recipes that make gear, a new row above Craft 1 has - and + buttons for 1x to 4x materials. Each extra copy of the ingredients raises that craft's rank by one step, so you can spend more resources to get the same S rank craft chance even if you don't have that grade.

• The crafting minigame now has Overtime. When a stage's timer runs out you get extra time equal to 60% of the stage time on an orange Overtime bar. Finishing in Overtime still earns accuracy points, but no speed points.

• Finish every stage, in time or in Overtime, and you are guaranteed at least a C. Until your score reaches C. \[CHECK]

Securing the Region

Wolves are attacking travellers on the roads of the Moorne. The overstretched guards at the Moorne Fort encampment have run out of ideas. Speak with Captain Frederick Heggcorn at the encampment to offer your help. Your search for a better plan takes you to the Grand Master Warden's cabin, out along the north road and up to the gates of the Thrunk encampment.

A Business Adventure

Sterling Gaither, a businessman waiting by his wagon at the Moorne Fort, has bought the deed to an abandoned mineshaft to the east and wants it scouted before he invests. Recover the old Mine Logbook from the office inside the shaft, then explore the tunnels and record what you find, from creatures and ore veins to pages left by an earlier expedition. The more thorough your report, the better Sterling pays.

The Historian and the Spot Caps

A man in far too fine robes is wandering around the Moorne Fort looking completely lost. He is Orvyn Argotte, a scholar who has come to meet the Spot Caps and study the written language they've long forgotten. Speak with the well dressed traveller at the Moorne Fort encampment, then help him earn the Spot Caps' trust, survive the road and get to work on the old rune stones near their village.

Wild Night

The Spot Caps hold a festival eight times a year and have never let an outsider watch, but this time they invite you and Orvyn to dance with them. You wake the next morning on the Moorne Head with a splitting headache, no memory of the night and no sign of Orvyn. Speak with Shining Leaves the Elder outside his home in the Spot Cap village to begin, then retrace your steps across the Moorne.

In Search of the Past, Losing the Future

Orvyn has a new theory about the unreadable runes on the Spot Cap stones, and he's far too pleased with himself to be safe. Find him at the rune stones outside the Spot Cap village and help him put his theory to the test. The trail leads to rune stones as far away as the Abyss and Badongerst, and to a secret the Spot Caps would rather keep.

Deep Trouble (reworked)

A soldier named Gullible Roger lies injured and unconscious at the bottom of the Abyss, the deep mineshaft in the Moorne. Wake him, patch up his broken leg and help him make the long climb back to the surface past everything that lives down there. The reworked quest has branching routes, and you can burn a shortcut past the spider caves with a fire ability or hand Roger some Insecticide Powder.

Path of the Warden

The Grand Master Warden, an old hermit who lives alone in a cabin northwest of the Moorne Head, is short on company and long on time. He trades tea for stories, and over several visits he asks for tales of your own adventures so he can decide what you're made of. Visit his cabin once you've finished Deep Trouble.

Altarior Motive

Theodore Badon has found an altar in the Great Graveyard that's raising the dead. He wants someone to watch his back while he destroys it. Speak with him at the Kal Crossing North Gate, then meet him at the Great Graveyard gates when you're ready. Escort him through the graveyard and hold the line against the rising dead. You can bring your party along.

• The Shimmering Kal is a new Desolate Zone with 11 sites to rebuild: Boiling Lake Cave Collapse, the Guard Fort Item Box, Task Board, Anvil Set, Training Area and Loom Tent, the Spinning Wheel Shack, the Hickory Yard Well, Food Shed and Wood Storage, and the Broken Bridge to Kal Crossing.

• Added Mushroom Pie (Cooking 37), Cooked Goldfish (Cooking 10) and Small Grilled Saltwater Fish (Cooking 11).

• Pies: use Dough on a Dessert Dish to make a Pie Shell, then fill it and bake it at a range. You get the Dessert Dish back.

• Leftovers: Meat, Mushroom, Sweetberry and Fish Pies and Apple Bread now leave a Half Eaten portion, and a Cake becomes Most of a Cake and then A Slice of Cake, so you can finish them later.

• Butter is now made at the new Butter Churn (Cooking 40) instead of at ranges.

• Higher level food now has special effects.

• Red Ferns, Palantine Fruit, Cotton and Sweetberry can now be gathered across the overworld.

• Vegetables: Cabbage, Potato and Onion fields in the Southern Swampland, west of the Great Graveyard and on your estate's Animal Farm upgrade.

• Mushrooms: shady spots across the overworld, mostly around Kal Crossing, the Grimmfaide, Kirrin Moorne and the Shimmering Kal.

• Knife Grass now grows at cave and mine entrances across the overworld.

• Two new Coal veins in the Loima Shores mine.

• Charged rings and necklaces now hold their own mana (previously Magic Charge) and spend it as their effect works. At 0 the effect stops until you recharge the item at an Occultist Altar. They no longer turn into separate Uncharged items, and the Trader no longer sells Uncharged rings.

• The Regenerating Amulet holds 200 mana and the Ring of the Abyss holds 7 Warps.

• Click the 'Sort' button or press its hotkey to sort your inventory or bank.

• Added buttons to quickly deposit your Inventory and Equipment.

• Added Deposit/Withdraw X. Set your X amount (default 10) and press X (or your bound hotkey) while hovering over an item in the bank or inventory to move it the other way.

• Shops now keep the Character tab open beside your inventory, so you can check or swap gear while you shop.

• Search finds people you can talk to, gathering spots, crafting stations and building entrances across every map. Results inside buildings, or on maps the world map can't draw, point you to the entrance that leads there. Quest locations now name the building they're in.

• New pins:

  • every overworld gathering spot (around 140 new pins), including the first Fishing pins, Knife Grass, Hickory, Grain and the vegetable fields

  • Sheep flocks

  • peddler shops

  • Clay at Ironsvern Beach and the South Wilds

  • the Farmer's Market

  • separate Loom and Spinning Wheel pins

  • an Arcana Table

  • both Occultist Altars

• Your tracked quest's pin is now twice the size with a ripple pulse on the world map. It stays normal size on the minimap.

• NVIDIA DLSS 4 is now an Upscaler option on supported NVIDIA cards, alongside AMD FSR 3 and Intel XeSS.

• Anti Aliasing: Off, FXAA or SMAA. It's greyed out while an upscaler is on, since upscalers do their own anti aliasing.

• New preset: Potato. It has low shadows, grass, tree, detail and load distances, Quarter textures, no cloth physics or foot placement, and FSR 3 upscaling. It's the new default on Steam Deck.

• New setting: Texture Quality (Full, Half or Quarter). It defaults to Quarter on Steam Deck, Half on graphics cards with 2 GB of memory or less, and Full otherwise.

• New setting: Autorun. You run whenever you move and have stamina. When you run out, you jog until stamina recovers to 30.

• New key: Dodge. It's unbound by default, and while unbound, tapping Sprint still dodges. Bind it to keep Sprint for sprinting only. With a wand or staff, Dodge blinks you instead.

• Open Chat is now its own row (default Enter), and Enter, Numpad Enter, F1, F7 and F12 can now be bound like any other key.

• Hold Escape (or Start on controller) for half a second to close every open window at once.

• A new Character Type row at the top picks Masculine, Feminine or Unlocked. Masculine and Feminine hide certain sliders, and Unlocked shows everything.

• Randomise All rolls a whole new character (look, body, face and clothing) that matches your Character Type.

• Feminine/Masculine sliders now have a wider range, and there is a new Chest slider.

• Colour swatches and the colour editor now show the exact colour your character will wear. Hair colour has more saturation room for reds, gingers and browns.

• Chest shapes are smoother and rounder at high Chest and Feminine values.

• Everlast now runs natively on Linux, including single player and hosting your own world.

• Steam Deck is now officially supported, with the correct button glyphs and a default recommended graphics preset.

• Your carried (portable) characters now sync through Steam Cloud.

• If you bring a character to a world where its name is taken, you now join under a temporary name and a "Name Already Taken" notice offers Rename or Keep Name. Carried characters also have Rename in their right-click menu.

• The Occultist Altar at the Great Graveyard can now be used.

• Once you've completed Persistence, the Basic Furnace in Kal Crossing can smelt Steel Bars from Iron Ore and Coal (Forging 25, 17 XP).

• Emeralds can now be cut at the Survival Workbench alongside Opal, Topaz and Sapphire (Artisan 56, 195 XP).

• Cureall Tea can now also be brewed at campfires and ranges once you reach that point in The Lost Artist.

• The Badongerst Pants Salesman now talks to you and opens his shop.

• Movement speed: jogging is now 4.8 (was 5.8) and sprinting is now 7.3 (was 9.0).

• Stamina regenerates twice as fast: 86 per second (was 43), or 43 per second in combat (was 21.5).

• Melee attacks cost less stamina, so a full bar gives about half a swing more. Ranged and Sorcery costs are unchanged.

• Every direct hit can now stagger an enemy, and enemies no longer ignore stagger because they're mid swing. Bigger enemies shrug off hits more often. A light hit staggers Tiny enemies 100% of the time, Small 90%, Medium 70%, Large 30% and Giant never. A heavy hit always staggers Medium and smaller, Large 60% of the time and Giant never.

• Enemy hit reactions last longer. The flinch is now 0.35 seconds (was 0.25), and stagger on Tiny, Small and Medium enemies is now 0.6, 0.5 and 0.4 seconds (was 0.5, 0.4 and 0.3). Chained light hits now keep an enemy staggered.

• You now flinch only from heavy attacks and from hits by Large or Giant enemies. Lighter hits from smaller enemies play a small recoil without interrupting you.

• Multi-target spells (splashes, cones, novas and spell fields) now deal full damage only to the first target (or the one nearest the centre) and 40% to every other target. On spell fields that tick, the later ticks together add 40% of the first hit. Ground effect damage is now reduced by the target's resistance to that damage type.

• Quick Jabs now knocks a target back only on the final jab, so earlier jabs keep it in reach. The combo now plays out over 1.5 seconds (was 0.9).

• Every enemy ability now costs the enemy stamina, not only abilities from enemies that block.

• Bow: 1.2 seconds between shots (was 0.95) and 54% damage per arrow (was 75%).

• Crossbow: 1.57 seconds between shots (was 1.67) and 119% damage (was 140%). Piercing Bolt 76% (was 90%), Crossbow Mortar 38% (was 45%).

• Crossbows and bolts lose 1 to 2 Pierce damage per tier: Iron Crossbow 6 (was 7), Iron Bolt 3 (was 4), Steel Crossbow 7 (was 8), Steel Bolt 4 (was 6), Morion Crossbow 9 (was 11), Morion Bolt 6 (was 7).

• Aimed Throwing Axe: 1.1 seconds between throws (was 0.85) and 63% damage (was 80%).

• Sorcery: Fire Orb 86% (was 90%), heavy 38% (was 40%). Frost Dart 52% (was 55%), heavy 48% (was 50%). Ember Dart 67% (was 70%), heavy 143% (was 150%). Fireball heavy 182% (was 190%).

• Battlestaves: Heat Battlestaff 17 Heat damage (was 21), Heat Mystical Battlestaff 21 (was 26), Cold Battlestaff 18 (was 19), Cold Mystical Battlestaff 22 (was 24).

• Ground spells: Meteor now covers 6 m (was 4 m) but lands after a 3.5 second warning (was 1.1). Meteor Storm covers 6 m (was 5 m) after 2.5 seconds (was 0.8). Thunderstrike covers 3.5 m (was 2.8 m) after 1.4 seconds (was 0.7). Glacial Snare warns for 1 second (was 0.4).

• Electric Blow now strikes once when Electrified wears off (was twice).

• Enemy respawn times:

  Enemy

  Bull

  50 s (was 30 s)

  Rooster

  50 s (was up to 35 s)

  Lesser Demon Brute

  2 min 51 s (was 30 s)

  Swamp Crawler

  45 s (was 4 s)

  Deathcrawler

  2 min (was 4 s)

• Bulls now hit for 10 to 13 (was 13 to 16).

• Human enemies with maces (bandits, Umbardom Guards, Kal Castle Guards, Pirate Crew Brutes and the Hamburglars) no longer use Face Bash.

• The ground left by enemy Meteor (Deranged and Forgetful Occultists) and enemy Thunderstrike (Necromancers and other casters) now deals much less damage.

• Defence XP, first rework pass:

  • You now earn 2.5 Defence XP per point of damage an enemy's direct hit would deal before your own reductions. Armour that suits the damage type pays more, blocking pays 1.5x and parrying 2x. It used to be 3 XP per point of damage your armour and blocks absorbed. Damage over time, ground effects, falls and self damage give no Defence XP.

  • Slay tasks on the Task Board now also pay Defence XP for each kill, about a quarter of the task's combat XP (for example 3 per Thief, 9 per Necromancer, 10 per Valac).

• Armour requirements:

  • Leather now needs Ranged 1 and Defence 1 (was Defence 1).

  • Fur needs Ranged 9 and Defence 9 (was Ranged 15 and Defence 10).

  • Monster Leather needs Ranged 18 and Defence 18 (was Ranged 30 and Defence 20).

  • Cloth and the Wool Cape need Sorcery 12 and Defence 6 (was Sorcery 10 and Defence 8).

  • Every Spidersilk piece needs Sorcery 23 and Defence 14.

  • Plate still needs Defence only.

• Training dummies and other targets that never fight back now only train skills up to level 5 and give at most 1 XP per skill per hit. XP rate bonuses don't apply.

• Occultism ritual unlock levels are now set properly.

The shop economy has been overhauled to be less punishing.

• Buy prices are now 4x an item's value at specialty shops (was 6x to 12x), 8x at the General Store (was 15x) and 6x at the Peddler (was 8x).

• Sell prices at specialty shops are now 35% of value (was 20% to 100%), and they only buy the kinds of items they stock. The General Store (100%), Trader, Thrunk Junk Shop and Peddler (now 50%, was 60%) still buy anything.

• Example prices: Steel Helm 1,900 (was 3,000), Poplar Shortbow 120 (was 360), Small Fishing Net 60 (was 180), Pot at the General Store 64 (was 120), Iron Throwing Axe 80 (was 288). Iron Arrows now cost 32 at the Bow Shop (was 24) and Iron Bolts 44 (was 24).

• Item values:

  • Arrows and bolts are worth 2 to 4 times more, for example Iron Arrow 8 (was 3) and Steel Bolt 30 (was 10).

  • Throwing axes are worth about half as much, for example Steel Throwing Axe 55 (was 100).

  • Arrow tips, throwing axe heads and unfeathered bolts now share one value per tier: Copper 20, Iron 83, Steel 238, Morion 520.

  • Several armour pieces are worth more, for example Iron Helm 165 (was 49), Steel Helm 475 (was 300) and Morion Helm 1,040 (was 420).

• Every bar now makes 30 arrows, 20 bolts or 12 throwing axes when crafting ammo. Bolts used to be 250 (Copper and Morion) or 25 (Iron and Steel), and throwing axes 36 (Copper), 15 (Morion) or 5 (Steel). \[CHECK]

• Iron Nails now make 5 per bar (was 1). Steel Nails make 5 per bar at any anvil.

• The Bucket now takes a Copper Bar instead of an Iron Bar and gives 15 Survival XP (was 22).

• The Peddler now sells Rope.

• The Smithing Hammer has been retired. Shops no longer sell it, and it's no longer needed for estate upgrades or the Badongerst Bank Box rebuild.

• Wolves now drop Fur about 50% of the time (was about 26%), 1 to 2 at a time.

• Skeletons and Zombies have a 3% chance to drop Red Fern.

• Medium Locked and Unlocked Chests can now contain 2 to 5 Red Fern.

• These now stack to 5: Crossbow Arms and Stocks of every tier, Cup, Bowl, Bucket and Pot of Water, Bucket of Milk, Rope, Spidersilk Threads and Green Spidersilk Threads.

• Insecticide Powder's Dust Gear now gives +40% damage against spiders for 10 minutes (was +25% for 5 minutes) and can go on your hotbar. The powder now needs Arcana 14 and Slayer 10 and is in the basic potion recipes, swapping places with Tunnel Juice, which now needs Arcana 24 and Slayer 18. The Pest Control event now rewards Insecticide Powder.

• More special effects on high level food, each lasting 5 minutes:

  • Meat Pie: +5 Strength, -5 Dexterity

  • Sweetberry Pie: +5 Ranged, -5 Strength

  • Fish Pie: +5 Dexterity, -5 Sorcery

  • Fried Mushrooms and Mushroom Pie: +5 Sorcery, -5 Strength and Dexterity

  • Cooked Goldfish: +5 Fishing and Cooking

• Max health meals (5 minutes): Simple Salad +20 (was +35 for 2 minutes), Loaded Omelette and Loaded Sandwich +35, Stuffed Dumplings +45. Fried Vegetables give 25% poison resistance for 1 minute (was 50%).

• Most cooked food heals more:

• Feeling Full now lasts 1 to 4 seconds depending on the dish (was 5 seconds for everything), so you can eat again sooner. Fancy Pasta stays at 5.

• Cooking recipes:

  • Omelette at a campfire needs Cooking 13 (was 15), and Valac Stew needs Cooking 15 (was 20).

  • Fancy Pasta gives 255 XP (was 155) and Sweet Wine 225 (was 220).

  • Fish Stew at a campfire takes 3 Whitefish (was 1), and Fried and Baked Whitefish take any Whitefish that isn't small.

  • Herring, Cisco, Gar, Sturgeon, Giant Trevally, Trout and Salmon now count as Oil Fish.

  • Fried Onion, Roast Rabbit and the duplicate Grated Taters recipe have been removed.

• Freshwater fishing and netting spots give about 50% more catches before running out and come back 30% sooner. For example, the Pond Fishing Spot gives 5 to 8 catches and returns after 42 seconds (was 3 to 5 and 60 seconds).

• Apple Trees regrow after 30 seconds (was 60).

• /home (also /stuck) now has a 2 hour cooldown (was 30 seconds) that keeps counting while you're offline. You can't use it in combat.

• Solo players now need a third of every event target, event reward threshold and Desolate Zone requirement (for example 9 becomes 3 and 60 becomes 20), so one player can still earn the full reward.

• Home Again now needs Forging 11, Mining 10 and Survival 10. Rewards are now Forging 450 XP (was 400), Survival 425 (was 750) and Mining 425 (was 200).

• Learning to Fly now needs Forging 35 (was 26). Rewards are now Forging 3,100 XP (was 1,500), Artisan 3,350 (was 3,825), Survival 3,100 (was 3,050) and Mining 2,075 (was 2,050). Its enchanting recipe (Enchanted Gold Plated Sapphire) now needs Arcana 20 (was 30).

• Persistence now also needs Mining 25.

• One More Thing now needs two ichor or totems (was ten).

• The Mystery of the Meat now also rewards 2,000 Coins.

• Melee hits now have hit stop. When one lands, your swing and the target freeze for a split second (longer on heavy attacks), and the hit shows the moment it connects instead of waiting for the server.

• Every stagger now plays the heavy hit recoil, so it's easier to read.

• Hitting or being hit no longer shakes or zooms the camera. The Hit Camera Effects setting is gone, and Camera Shake now only applies to cutscenes and world events.

• Direct hits now flash where they land and metal weapons throw sparks. Creatures react with their own bursts of blood, bone, feathers or spores, and props kick up dust.

• Attacks now need a clear line of sight, so hits through walls no longer land. Ground targeted spells can't be placed where you can't see ("You can't see that spot."), and chained attacks only jump between targets that can see each other. Open gates let sight through, and a target only partly behind low cover can still be hit.

• Leashing enemies (running back home after you've pulled them too far) now have greyed out nameplates and show "Evade" when hit. Auto target and lock on skip them, and their health refills by 25% per second on the way home.

• Enemy attacks now land in time with their animations.

• Aim assist now gently turns you toward your target for single attacks, throws, spell shots and gathering swings. Melee assist only steps in when your swing would otherwise miss.

• Projectile Rain, Web Volley, Bone Cough and Wind Blade now aim at your current target. Wind Blade slices fade out at the end of their flight.

• Placing a ground targeted ability now lifts the camera so you can see the area from above.

• Shadow Rush's leap plays more smoothly.

• The recipe panel has a single row of buttons: Craft 1, Craft Many and Focused Craft. Focused Craft only shows on recipes with the minigame. The craft status now sits beside the progress percentage.

• Anvil and forge crafting have new animations. Your character holds the tools properly, uses tongs at the anvil and throws sparks with each strike.

• Recipes now show how much curse each craft adds.

• Movement keys and the crafting minigame's aim keys can now share keys, and crafting no longer moves your character.

• Item tooltips have been redesigned. A rarity tag leads the header. Damage and resistances show in a Slash, Bludgeon, Pierce, Cold, Heat and Energy grid with block values, and charged items show their mana as a vial. Bonuses from an item's modifiers are now included in its stats, and changed values are highlighted.

• Item tooltips and right-click menus now list the skill level each action needs. Actions you can't use yet stay visible but greyed out. When a level stops you, the message names exactly what you need, such as "You need level 30 Arcana to craft this."

• Reduced certain greetings in dialogues and cut or shortened others so later conversations get to the point. Banter in the intro, One Short Lesson and One More Thing was trimmed, and many lines across the quests were tidied.

• Quest rewards now arrive at the end of a quest's closing scene, not partway through. If you skip or cut the scene short, you still get the reward the next time you talk to that character.

• Lockboxes, stones and other quest locked objects now tell you which quest you need, both on screen and in chat.

• New quest map markers for More Than You Can Chew, One More Thing, Paths Diverge, Persistence and the prologue combat zone. Markers in The Badongerst Blaze and One More Thing now point at your current target, and markers that lead into your estate point to the estate gate.

• Quest updates:

  • One Short Lesson: Lendie accepts any bank deposit.

  • One More Thing: clearer directions to the old timer and to Cordelia's grave. The Amulet of Speak with Dead now holds a charge of mana, which is spent when you speak with the dead and recharged at the Occultist Altar. Cassius swaps any old Uncharged Amulet for a working one.

  • Artifact of the Matter: a new step if your pack is too full to open the treasure box.

  • The Lost Artist: clearer stage text, the potion objective asks for the colours Liza wants, and a graveyard headstone hint.

  • More Than You Can Chew: you now harvest wheat and grind it at the Badongerst windmill for the dough step.

  • Paths Diverge: clearer directions to the glade.

• Event NPCs now tell you why an event can't start, and the Pest Control, Private Enterprise and Army Marches NPCs remind you when their event is already running.

• Skill milestone rows for quests now open that quest in your quest log.

• Passive animals no longer show as red enemy dots on the minimap unless they're attacking you. Map hover is more precise, and reaching a waypoint now says "Waypoint reached."

• "Event started nearby" banners now only show to players near that event.

• Map pin fixes: the Abyss anvil pin now reads Smelter, unnamed iron pins read Iron Ore, and wrongly named tree pins are corrected.

Sound effects have had a major rebalance:

• Player Sorcery spells are half as loud, and spell impacts and ground effects can be heard up to 60 m away. Soul Arrow, Thunderstrike and the wind chime casts have proper sounds, and Meteor, Frost Nova and Glacial Snare got their missing sound layers back.

• Status effect sounds are half as loud (Frozen even quieter). Equip, unequip and footstep sounds are quieter, and combat movement uses walking footsteps.

• Music volume is evened out (including the Mausoleum), level-up jingles are rebalanced, and quest tracker sounds are half as loud.

• Releasing a volume slider no longer beeps.

• Single player and hosted worlds now use about half the CPU and boot two to three times faster. The bundled server is 30% smaller.

• Foliage hidden behind buildings and terrain is skipped far more often, which raises FPS in towns. Foliage also no longer draws detail levels that no plant on screen uses.

• Fire and water effects you can't see now pause instead of running in the background.

• More rocks, cliffs and props are merged together in caves, interiors and outdoor areas, so the game draws fewer objects.

• Shaders now load in advance on every desktop platform, so there are fewer stutters after logging in.

• Lower memory use on Steam Deck and low memory PCs: loading screen art only loads while it shows, duplicate clothing textures are gone, and unused terrain textures were removed.

• Overworld water has softer, gradual shorelines, and rivers now match the lakes.

• New intro cinematic in 1440p with built-in subtitles.

• Loading screens show seven new illustrations in a shuffled order and crop to fit instead of stretching on screens that aren't 16:9.

• New game icon.

• The start screen news feed is back.

• The Toggle Strafe keybind is now called Target Lock On, and the Controls settings tab is now Keybinds.

• Mouse sensitivity now goes down to 0.05 (was 0.25).

• Main menu footer prompts now respond to the key they show, and Select prompts only appear on controller.

• Hostile enemies no longer spawn right next to crafting stations. 24 spawns were moved and 9 removed, including three bandits beside the Hidden Tunnels furnace.

• Working NPCs now hold the right tool at anvils, forges, workbenches, mining spots and trees. Fishing NPCs hold a rod, wandering fishers have more varied looks, and the overworld Blacksmith has a sturdier build and a new idle between hammering.

• NPCs now stop walking before they sit, work or strike a pose, and players who arrive later see them already in that pose.

• World events now only clear nearby creatures when the event is a combat event, so players training or gathering nearby keep their creatures.

• Gathering and drop-off actions repeated right at the end of a cycle now wait for the cycle instead of being lost. If the node you're gathering disappears, you're freed right away.

• Other players and NPCs now appear in the right place and pose when they come into view, along with their seat, target and anything they're carrying. Anything that fails to appear is fetched again automatically.

• Charged attacks and NPC abilities already in progress now show for players who arrive late.

• Party members, other players' combat levels and party stats stay in sync.

• Arrows no longer stick in mid air around gathering spots, and felled or depleted gathering spots no longer block swings and projectiles.

• Thrunks' heavy throw now leaves their hand in time with the animation, and their quick throw fires a pebble instead of a throwing axe.

• Skeleton attack effects no longer float above their weapons.

• Enemies that dodge out of a stagger now actually move.

• Electric Blow damage is now credited to the player who electrified the target.

• Damage Reflection no longer hits attackers who have left your map.

• Releasing aim no longer sometimes re-locks onto an old, dead target.

• Fixed staying stuck in the falling pose after being rooted mid jump. You can no longer start interactions in mid air.

• Fighting with a woodcutting axe now trains Dexterity.

• Chiseling a gem from the right-click menu now always needs a Chisel in your inventory (it isn't used up), and tells you when you don't have one.

• Gold Ore no longer gives a Rough Topaz, Sapphire or Emerald on every gather. Gems are now a rare roll (about 1%, rising with Mining level).

• Undead Luck no longer doubles the milk you get from cows.

• Items are no longer deleted when a drop or reward doesn't fit. Refused item actions now explain why, trades save both sides together, and swapping items in the bank updates both slots.

• Fixed item stacks changing size when a move, sale or drop was refused.

• Withdrawing or taking unique items now always puts them in an empty slot.

• Cups and Half Used Insecticide Powder can now be dropped and traded.

• Cureall Tea now stops all natural curse gain while it lasts.

• Wetting a Pot of Flour now gives the Pot back along with the Dough and Bucket.

• Stuffed Dumplings now use the Cabbage in their recipe.

• Bucket of Milk no longer shows Drink twice in its right-click menu.

• Removed Enchant options that did nothing from Diamond and Sphene rings and amulets.

• Your quick spell is now saved per character and stays set after you relog.

• If a quest hand-in fails, the items now come back to your backpack, or to your feet or the bank if there's no room.

• Fixed quest dialogue where cut lines left replies hanging (Badon, Agneiss, Silvia, Cassius, Emmanuel, Mack, Phoebe, Jean and Connor). Abel and Richard no longer repeat their default lines after quest lines.

• Saves with quests in progress now load cleanly, and quests no longer get stuck on stages that were removed.

• The Great Graveyard telescope now unlocks the Great Graveyard Curse Warp instead of pointing at the Kal Crossing one. The Swamp Village warp is now correctly named Abandoned Monastery.

• Artifact of the Matter: the treasure dig spot is much wider, and you can no longer dig up a second Treasure Box.

• The quest tracker keeps the latest stage title when it expands, and expands a finished stage even if the next one hasn't arrived yet.

• Farmers Revenge now teaches its summon spell to players whose join lands just after the win.

• Quest instances now wait up to 5 minutes for a player who disconnected inside.

• Estate lighting now resets after both Humble Beginnings endings.

• Encounter kill counts now reset when an encounter restarts.

• Loima Shores gather and craft tasks can now be handed in to the Board Caller who appears once the Loima Shores Task Board is rebuilt.

• Quest markers and routing into the Prison Quarry and Occultist Ritual caves now point to the right place.

• Cave Thrunks no longer spawn right beside Velkin Zweet Kake, and a chicken no longer pushes you around during cutscenes in the Grand Master Warden's hut.

• An Iron vein stuck inside a cave mine wall can now be reached.

• Rebuilt Loima Shores Desolate Zone buildings now show up correctly.

• Entering the estate Flour Mill no longer puts you in the wrong spot. The estate water well only appears once the Estate Front is reconstructed.

• Estate plots now have the right collision on a new estate: no more invisible fences from the wheat field, and the tutorial chicken pen is solid again.

• NPCs no longer float above floors or sink into water.

• Fixed missing water at the Big Waterfall, the border bridge pond, the Great Graveyard, the Moorne ponds and Badongerst Town.

• Fixed floating objects (including an apple cart in the Old Fort inner yard), pink and missing textures, broken terrain and foliage, stool seating and various terrain blending issues around the world.

• Fixed some rocks and props drawing several levels of detail on top of each other, and some objects disappearing from parts of the world.

• Skin no longer disappears from characters at Half or Quarter Texture Quality.

• Skin no longer pokes through chest clothing (including blouses and the Pirate Captain and crew outfits) at the neckline or while moving and attacking. Clothing now fits bodies across the full slider ranges, the default trousers' waistband tucks under the default shirt, and crease lines on the chest are gone.

• Character creator body sliders set above 50 are no longer refused when you create your character.

• Resetting the Graphics tab now also resets the hidden detail level setting.

• Graphics cards that don't support GPU foliage culling or FSR 3 now fall back cleanly instead of hitting errors every frame.

• Distant interaction prompts now hide behind walls and objects.

• Pressing Escape while a tutorial tip is up now opens the escape menu over it.

• Centering the world map on yourself no longer clears your "Show on map" pins.

• Clicking a chat line to whisper that player now follows your Free Cursor binding.

• The Cmd (macOS) and Windows keys can no longer be bound, and keybinds saved on them are reset.

• The HUD curse display is centred over the occult charge circle, and two-key and wide key prompts no longer overlap their labels.

• Kal Crossing's collection log entry no longer shows placeholder text.

• The party loading tip now says parties hold up to 12 members.

• Name fixes: Abandoned Monastery Curse Warp, Domaanziin Altar, Omelette and Grated Taters.

• If a server refuses your login because it's full or your character is invalid, you now see the reason instead of being dropped with no message.

• Quitting now saves the world and waits for Steam to finish before shutting down, so progress isn't lost when you close the game.

• XP earned just before you log out is now saved.

• Closed several exploits involving admin and debug commands on single player and hosted worlds.

We are announcing our price ahead of our EA release which is ...(Drumroll) ...

$24.99 with a 20% launch discount ($19.99), launching October 28!

It's important to us that the price for the game remains accessible for most, and we feel this price reaches a solid balance between maintaining that accessibility, and still meeting the studios goals and needs to keep things moving forward. That being said, we do plan to raise the price once we get into our full release, so definitely consider getting in while prices are still low!

Looking forward towards everyone being able to access the full game without any timer or content restrictions whatsoever. We think you'll all have a ton to dig into and we can't wait to hang out with the community in Everlast: Undying Tale throughout EA
