Update; MENU_CONTENT_NOT_AVAILABLE. HELP?
Surprisingly, MW3 just started updating itself? It was an update of only 2.2 MB so no big problem there.
However now I can't start the game. When I try to launch it it gives the error: MENU_CONTENT_NOT_AVAILABLE.
What's going on?

I solved it! Right-mouse-click on your game and select properties. Then go to the content tab and verify cache. It takes a while but solved the problem! I'm still wondering what the update was for.

AND THAT FOLKS IS WHY I AM SO DA** ADAMENT ABOUT STEAM NEEDING TO STOP FORCING UPDATES ON US!

How can they justify updates when the updates screw up the games more times than not!

We should NOT have to be doing these fixing things if the games are running the way WE want them to run. If they would RESPECT our decision, for those who have chosen to select DO NOT automatically update this game, to use this selection and NOT force updates on us we would NOT be having these problems and bit***** about problems launching our games that launched and played fine before the FORCED update.

You can, in the properties menu, select if you want the game to auto-update or not.

ALL of my games are set Do Not Automatically Update this game.. Yet every so often STEAM FORCES an update down our throats even if we have this setting selected. Thus screwin up our games and making us have to go through all kinds of steps to get them running again.

Does anyone know where the updae manifest can be found? It wan't an IW official patch... (not listed on MW3 site)

iam having the same problem!.. just got this game please help if a fix is found...is it because of steam updating the game?
Ren 13 ABR 2013 a las 13:03
Well I can agree that updates can be tedious but updates for multiplayer games are simply required to play online; they usually contain bug fixes and anti-cheat software so I'll never decline a game update.

@olly_92 as I commented before: Right-mouse-click on your game and select properties. Then go to the content tab and verify cache. It takes a while but solved the problem! I'm still wondering what the update was for.
