No controller support?

Before anyone says "But its a PC game!"

I'm splitting this between a monitor and a big screen HDTV. I use a controller for games on the big screen. So, naturally I want to use a controller for MW3 when going big.

But I see zero option to do so in the games control menus. I find it odd that a game like this would lack controller support, considering it is primarily a console game. Am I just out of luck, and need to resort to joy2key?

There are programs out there that allow you to use a contoller for games like MW3. You'll have to find them yourself though.

Damn the game is called Modern Warfare and you are not able to use a controller. It's a shame, even if anyone is using it :)
You can use the program xpadder and you will find scripts from people who made some for call of duty. Just google for xpadder modern warfare 3 profile or something like that.
And write a mail to activision. I know that they don't really care about your opinion but try it.

Bear in mind mouse + keyboard will destroy controllers any day.

Not very many game pads out there that can do as many commands without major software customizing tools to allow combined key use etc. Keyboards and mice leave options very open for custom commands without any trick software. For comfort and convience I use a gaming mouse with on average 5 buttons and an N52 left hand keyboard controller when I really want to spread out my options. That leaves my keyboard open for all the intermediate controls and commands. Can't do that with any two handed controller I have ever seen or used. I just wish I could use a keyboard and mouse on my consoles.. Anyone know where I can get a mouse and keyboard system for the later gen consoles??? For me nothing out there short of a real gun matches a mouse for precision aiming and firing.

I agree and should have found a way to mouse and WASD already. I bought a PS3 and can't find my way. I have been with PC games since the 80's. I am 63 now and wish my score was that high. The grand kid has an X-Box and and must have born with cyborg thumbs or similar. I just installed MW3 and said through on my pc in two evenings. I will retire in 2020 and then I will grow up! ha ha.

Okay, so apparently by this time, you can safely assume I know that MW3 has no controller support. But wow @ the responses trying to assume I do not know the obvious, and yes OBVIOUS advantages of a mouse and keyboard over a controller for overall PC gaming.

I did not start gaming on a PC yesterday. And grice, I've been gaming on computers since the 80's as well. Was not really much need for a mouse for gaming back then though. Just a keyboard, or a 1 button 1 knob joystick.


Thought I had made it kind of obvious as to WHY I want to use a controller. You know, the whole part where I said I was using the controller when gaming on a big screen television. Yeah, I did manage to fit that piece in there. You might have seen it. Or maybe not. Maybe missed it when you decided to jump to conclusions and educate me on the importance of mouse and keyboards for gaming, just because you saw OMG NOOB SEZ "NO CONTROLLER SUPPORT" in the topic title.


But anyway, sucks that Modern Warfare 3 does not support controllers. Really wanted to play through the single player campaign on my TV. Guess I'll hit it up on my monitor instead. You know, that other screen mentioned. The one where I DO use a gaming mouse and keyboard.

I agree this game should have controller suport anyway. I play alot of FPS games on PC with my controller because i too have a big tv and would rather kick back on the couch and and enjoy the ride, just like I do on my ps3. If i see a game that i know is on PS3 or Xbox and doesnt have the option to choose if u rather use gamepad over key and mouse then i wont bother with it. Now im not trying to start an argument over which is a better way to play, but what the companys should realize is how their customers want to play the game. Some of us want controller, some want key and mouse..... Bottom line there should be that option.

These developer are BRAIN DEAD.. who the hell create game only keyboard and mouse..They are dumb as ♥♥♥♥, especially for a developer that release 23 copies of the same game each year.. call of duty GHOST, advance warfare, the pimp and hoes sequel, the i dont give a ♥♥♥♥ anymore.. For a developer that release several of the same game,. i guess they are pretty dumb. GIVE US THE CONTROLLER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Question is, why would they REMOVE the controller support?
The game is a console port - why couldn't they just leave controller setup there

aws3m maybe youre just bettter witha controller. objectively though a mouse is more precise and a kayboard allows more functions due to the extra buttons.

I got annoyed too reading these comments. Like Why did I buy COD games on PC. I cant even use DS4Windows. When I try the Big Picture presets they dont even work that good.
