Freezing after around 30-45 seconds
Hi

I have an issue that after starting he game after around 30-45 seconds the game just freez on me (SP & MP the same) and I need to 'kill' the process via Task Manager.

I noted that this did not happened when I was offline.
Other CoD's are working fine (CoD 4: MW; CoD MW2; CoD BO1; CoD BO2).

My specs are:

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Language: Polish (Regional Setting: Polish)
System Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
System Model: GE60 0NC/GE60 0ND
BIOS: MSI GE60 0ND E16GAIMS Ver:1.0F MSI-Notebook
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 3992MB RAM
Page File: 2078MB used, 6008MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

- I have the latest NVidia drivers;
- Re-installed the game;
- Validated game files via Steam;

I found this article: http://community.callofduty.com/thread/200614600#.U3dRrig0-F5

It seems to be the same case, I wasn't able to test 2 things:

- connection via cable (do not have the cable);
- and to open the ports (dunno how and google wasn't really helpful).

Activision Support seems useles/helpless so I hope someone can give some advice!
Thank you in advance!

Same here, if you checked my post below yours under the title "FREEZE". I don't get it either, because ALL other games play fine, including COD GHOSTS and TITANFALL. But MW3 would just freeze without any sign of problems.

Myself, I re-installed the entire Operating System, and still no use! MW3, just as you describe it, would just freeze up after 20-40 sec and that's that!

Frustrating and irritating! :(

PS: I have Ethernet cables home, so I'm gonna try that out, but I don't think that would make much of a difference, and as far as the Router goes, I have NO access to it's control features because I'm TWC (Time Warner Cable) subscriber and they don't allow access to make changes. However, everything else works just fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not the router to blame, but the game. :(

Hello Furyan!

Did you had the chance to check the cable conection?

I also see that your using a laptop, correct? Who is the manufacturer of it? Is it MSI by any chance?

Yes, I did try with cable but no use. The one and ONLY way I was able to play MW3 on this PC was in Off-Line mode. I've tested the "Survival" mode and everything was fine Offline, but again, you can't play Multiplayer like that, only the Mission part and the Survival Modes.

And yes, I have multiple MSI Gaming Laptops. This one is an MSI GT70.

One more thing: I've just re-installed the full OS on my second PC, an MSI GT70 Dragon Edition 2, and the game plays FINE! :( :( :(

So, I REALLY don't get it! Everything is fine on the Dragon2, but not on the GT70, and MW3 is the one and ONLY game that causes this problem on the GT70! :(

This is crazy, makes no sense at all! :(

Thanks for the update.

Indeed - this seems like an very odd problem, offline for me is the same but like you pointed out no MP for us then :(

I believe that we need to verify what hardware/software/setting component on our machines are responisble for communication between the MW3 and the internet but I'm not to technical myself so propably it will be impossible for me to find a fix - hope that someone can see this post and give us some ideas what to check.

For a long time there were no problems at all! So, when it first happened, I contacted Activision. I was in contact with their support staff, analyzed everything, sent over system data, ran tests of all kinds for a WEEK, dozens of things, re-installation of full OS, router, WiFi, Lan, etc, whatever else there is, but they could NOT find a solution either! :( ... so I don't think I'll find a way to make it work.

I've also tested it with a different ISP, as a final "theory" to see if the game was somehow blocked by my internet service provider, but that made no difference either!

I've asked if it was possible that my PC particularly was blocked in any ways, but was told that it was not blocked at all, so NOBODY could find the solution.

Ports open, permissions are granted, system fine, all other games work, except this stupid MW3, which is my favorite game! :(

Luckily it works on my Dragon-2, but still, annoys and irritates the living heck out of me that I don't find the solution to this problem.

I don't have a second machine so MP will be 'no go' for me. If I'll have any new info I'll let you know but for now I'll just enjoy SP and offline Spec Ops.
