game ran fine, now it won't start - just shows splash screen

i bought the game again on sale after refunding it for not starting. it ran just fine! i played for a couple hours, took a break, and now it's not starting again - i just get the splash screen and then it closes with no fanfare. i see others with this problem, and i've tried all the "solutions" i can find, i've rebooted, verified file integrity, and re-installed.

2070 super, win10, ryzen 7 3800x

Hello, have you tried clearing cache and data and a clean reinstall to see if it fixes it?

have you tried to update graphics drivers and reinstall of direct x versions to see if it fixed it? i hope youll be able to enjoy your game

Had the same problem. Installed this version of PhysX, which sorted everything out:

Unfortunately I already tried that specific version last month - it didnt work for me. Glad it worked for you though!
