Its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game and a relic of the everything bad from ps3 era GOW clones.
If they should remaster something its a good game, not this thing.
The game was received well and it has a following. But it was essentially sent out to die. Deserves another chance.
Agreed - this game flew under the radar for me. Having played it way later, its surprisingly a very cool game. Not the best, but very interesting concept and fun game play. Ive seen plenty of games released in the last couple years that had less going for them
It had some great ideas but it was a awful coridor shooter with invisible walls, 2 weapon limit and highly scripted awful level design.
Good intentions dont make for a good game.
What do you mean, reviewed badly? It has generally favorable reviews. 76% average on all platforms on metacritic. And it tanked sales-wise because the game lacked publisher support, because the game had been through a development hell and Activision apparently didn't have faith in it.
70% would mean a good score if gaming press wasnt corrupt and incompetent. In this industry anything under 50% is broken or unplayable since this is where the scale starts, look no further than warcraft reforged that somehow score 65% from press despite being a broken barely working re release of a 20 year old game with some new textures.
Bottom line it still tanked. And i for one dont care to see it updated, rather any such effort was put into a total remake or something original.
It's not just gaming press, user reviews are the same or a bit higher. Such is not the case with something like Warcraft Reforged, where the user reviews are at all-time lows, signalling obvious disconnect.
It was always like this. Also user reviews for such old titles are never accurate as only fans will track those games down and review them positivly, only good practice is to look at opinions at the time to judge the initial reception.
Anyway the game didnt age that well. Its short, simplistic, limited by awful trends of the time like 2 weapon limit and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "everything is a generic rifle or machine gun" weapon design philosophy and awful invisible wall corridor shooter level design. In 2010 when this game came out gamers already were really tired of this ♥♥♥♥ and im not found of having to suffer it in a newly released game.
