If the guide link doesn't have a scrolling bar to the right of the guide, you can find my guide manually at the top of this game's forum, by going to "Guides". That should fix the page.
True that alot will get it to work that way with the older installed first and then installing the newer.
But no one uses the physx that comes with it, I didn't need to use that for it to work after installing onto a new harddrive windows 7 home premium 64 bit and used the latest at the time in early 2014 for physx, which is way beyond the years of the game's first release. Never installed once the old version. Although I used it on windows xp and windows 7 ultimate 32 bit back in 2011, but even then I didn't need the old physx.
Your info might help windows 10 users though, as windows 10 doesn't work with some games yet, keep in mind it is still in alpha.
Anyone with window 10 pro technical preview, should update to the latest build, choose "fast" under windows update to have it find and download the latest version.
The game runs on windows 10 pro technical preview build 10041 and also the latest version.
Note -
If you have windows 10 pro technical preview and with at least an nvidia geforce gtx 600 graphics card or above, and you downloaded the latest geforce graphics drivers through windows update in windows 10, then you will notice there is no physx installed with it yet. Check out the nvidia control panel by clicking the arrow for the hidden icons near the clock, and right click the geforce experience/nvidia icon, click on the nvidia control panel, then click on system information inside the nvidia control panel to the bottom left corner of the window. Notice it says directx runtime version 12, and below that shows the direct3d api version at 12 as well.
Once you install physx, possibly the latest version, then restart the pc and go back into the nvidia control panel, notice it shows directx feature level 11_0 now there, if your video card is a directx 11 graphics card.
If you set any compatibility settings, be sure to remove them, if the game is now working with physx installed, but you get possible crashes, remove the compatibility settings and click apply, then click ok. Run the game in steam.
If the game isn't working like before, set the compatibility settings back for the game.
They should PIN THIS at the top, too many discussions asking for help
Have a laptop with a built in graphics adapter and a geforce or radeon graphics card?
The button isn't working on the laptop?
Be sure to install new graphics drivers that you can find a link for in my guide, motherboard drivers latest versions, all the visual c++ redist, .net framework, and the dxwebsetup in there as well.
After that do these steps, there are other ways but try this also after everything in the guide.
Ok so you have a laptop with a built in video card and a geforce or radeon graphics card. -
Only do this after the downloads and solutions in the guide.
If you get "a graphics card supporting directX 11 was not detected" and a game crash as well or other Transformers: War for Cybertron game problems.
Or you would like to find out how well your better graphics card works.
Which is the best solution.
Follow these steps
1. Right click on your game in your steam games list, select properties.
2. Then select Set Launch Options on the General tab.
3. Add the line into the text box and click on ok, -adapter=1 and then try the game again.
If this doesn't work, remove the command line and click on ok.
Be sure to clean your laptop from dust, don't have any static on you or an item you use to clean it with.
Also if the solution works, test it in a cool room, don't let your laptop get really hot, but dust will also build heat on different hardware such as the cpu, gpu, or within the laptop, and static on dust or anywhere, will destroy it also.
1. All you have to do is go to nvidia.com and download the latest physx version.
2. Once downloaded, right click on it and click properties.
3. Select unblock and click ok. Then right click on the installer and click run this program as an admin.
Now restart the pc and try the game.
You can check again the version after you install the latest physx, by going back to the installed programs, under the control panel again like mentioned above.
Also you can right click on the desktop or go to the hidden icons near the clock, to find the nvidia control panel, and then click system information at the bottom left of the nvidia control panel, select the next tab for the physx version.
Btw when you put something like an icon that tells someone to deal with it, that's very ignorant. Considering the guide I have for others and the helpful info I have always posted, most that create these threads post their helpful info from mine.
Although there might be a moment where windows update for windows 10 might have better graphics drivers again, at some point, if they need to make whql drivers out of the nvidia drivers, to make them compatible with the windows 10 alpha builds.
Check to make sure you are downloading the right graphics drivers for your windows and graphics card from the nvidia website, and only use the latest version of the graphics drivers.
After downloading them, right click on the installer and click properties, click unblock, then click apply and ok.
Right click on the installer and click run as an admin.
Be sure to click custom when the installer opens.
Be sure they are all selected.
Choose a clean install and click next.
Restart the pc right away after install, don't do anything else until then.
Try the game again.
Info about windows 7 that needs a download to fix a few windows update issues.
And info on sound card drivers, also some sound card drivers that work with windows 10 for x-fi sound cards, if you have a different creative sound card, check the guide near that info for some links that could lead to your sound card type.

For amd motherboards, first try your motherboard's official website motherboard drivers.
Here's the latest stable drivers, try this for the automatic detect.
Also select manual down below that for choosing a specific driver type, for graphics and for the motherboard drivers, to choose the mother drivers.. set it to chipset, then the chipset type.
Then select your windows version. And be sure to manually download the catalyst control center.
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
Here is a beta version of the catalyst control center.
Keep in mind this link will be old if a new version comes out.
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Catalyst-15.4.1-Beta.aspx
Also don't forget to check for your radeon's graphics drivers as well.
With every download, right click on the installer and click properties, click unblock and press ok.
Right click again on the installer, click run as an admin.
Read carefully through the installation.
Restart the pc right after installing each installer, don't do anything before that.
Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers downloaded from nvidia.com
They have to be exactly for your graphics card, and Windows version.
Try to uninstall completely, PhysX.
Find the Nvidia folder, within the Program Files, remove the PhysX folder.
Though you should uninstall the Graphics Drivers first, then remove the Nvidia folder.
Remove the Nvidia folder on the c:\ drive root folder.
Find any traces of it in the c:\ProgramData folder, and remove Nvidia.
Reinstall the drivers with a custom install, not express.
Once you have a custom install selected, set it to Clean Install.
Have it install everything, the Geforce Experience, PhysX as well.
When that is done installing, restart the pc.
If that doesn't work, try steps in my Guide, by going to the top of this forum under Guides.
As you might be missing some apps also, such as visual c++ redist files.
Be sure to get all of the visual c++ redist files in my guide.
There is a chance you might need the .net frameworks apps, but I wouldn't install them for now. Though.. you probably could install the one in the game's folder.
After that is done, follow other instructions in the guide as well.
You can also check the Windows Firewall to see if the game is accepted through it.
And port forward which can be found in my guide, for your router/modem.
Make sure your security software or antivirus, from any pc such as a lan, won't block the game. And be sure your lan or security software or modem/router, won't filter too much, which can cause the lag or less connectivity between servers and downloads.
Don't forget to remove any compatibility changes, if the game worked on previous versions of Windows 10, some of those compatibility settings could cause issues, just remove them from the .exe file of the game.
Also check for any command lines from steam, which means to go into your game's library and right click on the game, click properties, find and remove other command lines.

My guide has been updated a little.
I doubt it, though if you updated everything, motherboard drivers, graphics drivers, sound drivers, lan drivers, it might work a little.
Don't forget the game's options to lower the graphics and resolution settings.
If you are on Windows 7, be sure to download the dxwebsetup file also from the guide.
It doesn't take 10 hours to figure it out, you just follow the steps.
Uninstall and reinstall some software that the game uses, like the graphics drivers, visual c++ redist files, .net framework files, and PhysX should come with the Nvidia Geforce graphics drivers to uninstall and reinstall.
Make sure everything is removed and restart the PC after every uninstall, before reinstalling, and restart after every reinstall as well.
Follow any instructions I gave in a couple links recently for this game's forum.
Then try the game again. Patience is all you need.
Though.. it can depend on your PC hardware as well.
If you have a radeon graphics card, install the latest PhysX, and the visual c++ redist located in this games folder on your PC, be sure to uninstall any older version first.
And keep your drivers up to date, if it's the graphics drivers, do a custom clean install.
Don't forget to check for other downloads you might need in my guide.
Also check your windows firewall to make sure the game is accepted through it.
