You could have just said, I got it to work, thanks. :/
It's ok, but it's good to let others know you got it to work also before others post. xD
And if you forget like you did, it's good to say it also in a reply, not lol it already works :/
Which sounds a bit harsh. lol
But it's all good. =)
System is Win10, Xeon dual 3Hgz, Radeon HD6900 running AMD Radeon Crimson beta drivers:
Solution for me was to set
These issues can be caused by the following:
Are you keeping up to date with the Windows 10 build downloads? Use Windows Update and set it to "fast". Remove the defer upgrades in the download options.
Also, after every Windows 10 build download update, be sure to install all drivers again, sound drivers, motherboard drivers.. including ethernet drivers, Graphics card drivers and more.
You need the latest Graphics drivers for Windows 10 64 bit edition, not in compatibility mode.
Make sure the Graphics card drivers are a clean install.
Don't use the War For Cybertron PhysX unless you completely have to, find the latest version to download from nvidia.com and go from there. "Make sure they are the latest version, don't asume."
First uninstall the old PhysX right after downloading the new version, then restart the PC after uninstalling, and install the new version of PhysX, restart the PC again.
Remember to keep everything up to date. Yes that means if you have new Graphics drivers, then find out if there are new PhysX versions as well, motherboard drivers, sound card drivers, ethernet drivers, and anything else that needs updated.
Check and find out if your Visual c++ redist files are installed, and the proper .net frameworks as well.
Don't use Beta drivers for the Graphics card, or any other hardware beta drivers, those can also cause issues, there's a reason they are beta, and could be full of bugs, even with new features. For some hardware, that's understandable, but never use Beta Graphics drivers.
Also check your Windows Firewall to see if the game is accepted through it.
And you just have to shrink your game with different keys to find out what is going on behind it.
Several methods to shrink it would be the Windows key for the desktop or task bar to show up, then see if there's something behind the game, you can use the alt - tab to select a different app with a window and see if something shows up after you shrink the game, and if not.. then right click on the task bar and select task manager.
If that doesn't work, open the Windows 7 or 10 options screen by pressing ctrl - alt - delete once, not more than that, and selecting the task manager, as this will help get rid of the issue of not seeing the desktop, but it also helps to close an app that won't close from fullscreen.
Also after doing all the steps here, be sure to remove the compatibility settings with the game's .exe executable file, and try the game again. If that doesn't work, just set it to the compatibility settings that it was at.
