Transformers: War for Cybertron

Any replacement or mod for online?
I know that when star wars battlefront 2 lost their servers there were a couple of programmes and server hosts that used an external software or website to host servers. I think I used game ranger to play with friends.

Is there anything similar for the transformer games? Or any news or word on any in progress or development from fans?

It's almost certainly possible. I just don't have the expertise to do it myself.

I remember testing a mod for someone that let you play half-baked DLC maps. It worked by using keybinds to execute commands in order to switch the maps. Since the commands worked off the config, it may be able to be try to modify them to just launch the escalation map.

That sounds promising, I myself dont have the expertise to do it either but its something that would revive the committed fanbase. And with a modified config you still wouldnt have access to online play, where what I was talking about was a third party software or provider that hosted servers that the game was modified to use sort of thing.

But unlocking the maps and game mode along with the now locked paid content and customisation is certainly a first step.

sadly this is not possible. the servers for this game were never dedicated servers, they were hosted by the developers themselves so the servers are basicly lost unless someone else buys them

The games were peer-to-peer. The servers were sort of a middleman, handling matchmaking and profiles.

The game can most likely be tweaked to bypass the server requirement entirely, as long as it knows where to connect to.

it will probably be possible to use a third-party service like GameRanger or something else to play online for this again once someone figures it out, same for FoC. it will just take time.

I'm looking forward to experiencing the multiplayer once someone can figure out how to set it up. As an IT student, I wonder if I'll be able to learn some things that I can do to help make multiplayer functional again.

I asked the maker of Offline Escalation/DLC Map mod about this. They told me that the Demonware account system is almost too baked into the code to make the game run on multiplayer without accounts.

It doesn't help that the game files are extremely difficult to access. I wouldn't count on being able to play multiplayer ever.

So I used to go by Viper Prime. I made ini tweaks for this with some others back in the day. This game WAS my childhood. I'd love to go back and play through the multiplayer campaign with my wife in the here and now. I know this likely won't help, but I may have a copy of the ini decrypter on an old account somewhere if anyone thinks they can use it to make any form of multiplayer work again.

If anyone wants my files. Not sure if it will help at all

Will it work with FoC, KrytonTek?
